With this freedom comes the responsibility to relate to God on the basis of his holiness and his love, and to walk with the Holy Spirit who empowers us to live a godly life, motivated not by fear, but by love and gratitude.

07.01.2022 Performance-based religion tends to create an environment where leaders feel they need to micromanage people. The Pharisees with their abundance of regulations is a great example. Jesus contrasted this by saying their are really only two laws that matter - love God and love people. When the right values are in a person's heart, we can give people the freedom to do what we've empowered them to do. Then they can take true ownership and responsibility for the outcome, and the Holy Spirit can accomplish much more through his people.
