15.01.2022 Workshops this year: Neuroplasticity in the Aquatic Environment is a 2 day workshop that will run on on Sat and Sun, Oct 10th and 11th 2020, from 9-4pm each day. Again we will be using the Non-Chlorinated pool at Somerset College in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast. This very practical workshop will provide an opportunity for physiotherapists to refine their observation skills, improve their ability to identify movement patterns that may be impacting function and learn a vari...ety of land and water based strategies to improve movement quality, reduce pain and sustain functional gain. Musculoskeletal, neurological and persistent pain groups will be considered. This is a level 2 Aquatic course so a basic knowledge of the physiology of immersion, properties of water etc are assumed but if you have had limited undergraduate aquatic physiotherapy training or would like to review your knowledge, we can provide pre-reading and questions. Early-bird price is the same as last year at $650. Our numbers will be limited to 10 participants and both Toni and I present and teach so if will be quite an intimate learning experience. This is specifically directed at physiotherapists who have an interest in Aquatic Physiotherapy. To register go to http://www.neuroaquatics.com.au/latest-workshop Handling Children with Special Needs is a one day course and is open to therapists, carers, swim teachers or parents. This will run on Sun 1st Nov 2020 from 9am-5pm. Participants will learn how to facilitate movement and learning through handling, this facilitation based on a deep understanding of developmental sequence. Toni has an absolute wealth of experience and her handling skills are quite remarkable. I have always been amazed at the dramatic changes that can occur with such subtle but informed and deliberate handling. If participants are all therapists, then the course will be tailored accordingly but is suitable for all groups even if the group is mixed. The course is an hour longer than last year as we are hoping to have a couple of children come along for Toni to work with to enhance learning. The early bird fee is $350 and again our numbers will be limited to 10 participants. To register go to http://www.neuroaquatics.com.au/latest-workshop Further information on each course is available on our website: www.neuroaquatics.com.au and if you prefer, you can register for either course via the website. (http://www.neuroaquatics.com.au/latest-workshop.) Payment information is on the registration link.
