24.01.2022 Fire and Rescue NSW Station 053 Neutral Bay and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 001 City of Sydney were called to a tree down in Mosman this morning. As you can see from the photo there was some damage to residential property, and with the tree down on a number of motor vehicles, also likely to be some surprises for owners. The road was completely blocked, with traffic control managed by Police, allowing crews to work with chainsaw and bush saws to clear the road and make the area safe for residents. With severe wind warnings in place, we are prepared for more incidents like this and urge everyone to be careful and cautious. 22.01.2022 Even though Open Day will be a little different this year, we’re still excited for you to join us.
22.01.2022 Mental health and resilience is a subject close to all firefighters and emergency first responders, and is . taken seriously by Fire and Rescue NSW. On March 20 +.21 crew from many of the stations on the northern beaches, including our own 53 station Neutral Bay, will be participating in the Head Above Water 24 hour swim. Follow Head Above Water to find out more about the swim, more about mental health and resilience in our community, and how you can help or benefit. Come along and have a swim, even just one lap is enough to show some support. #mentalhealthawareness Fire and Rescue NSW Lower North Shore and Northern Beaches Command ME2
18.01.2022 We train for lots of different scenarios, this one was not one of them. In conjunction with Fire and Rescue NSW Station 053 Neutral Bay Berowra Waters RFB spent... some time this week with Year 6 Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Mosman. F+R Neutral Bay were able to show them the truck, rescue equipment, BA gear and answer their questions, and Berowra Waters RFB talked and showed them an RFS truck and had them all pair up and use the live lines (the yellow hose reels you see on the RFS trucks), and for each of the groups we also then showed them how much waters a 38mm hose pushes out compared to the ones they had a practice with. We had a lot of great questions from the students and great answers when we asked question. Thanks to the teachers for taking the photos. The best answer on the day was to this question "Of all of this (trucks, people, equipment, hoses etc...) is most important to firefighters?" We have this questions to the students and got great answers, however the prize went to one of the crew on F+R 053 with "It's the people and team work that's most important." Thanks to Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Mosman for inviting us, and to Fire and Rescue NSW Station 053 Neutral Bay joining us.

We've been in Port Macquarie as part of a multi-agency clean-up... effort after the flooding caused extensive damage to homes and businesses. Photo Credit: Alex McNaught - Roving-Eye.com Photography
17.01.2022 To all the dads and all the first responder and emergency service dads working today, happy father’s day and thank you.
15.01.2022 FRNSW’s commitment to beingprepared for anything’ means that as well as maintaining our skills through regular training and drills, we need to be familiar with new and changed infrastructure in our communities. With this in mind, Neutral Bay Fire Station joined crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 036 Crows Nest, Duty Commander Fire and Rescue NSW Lower North Shore and Northern Beaches Command ME2 , under the expert guidance of Rail and Metro staff, inspected the tunnel se...ction of the Sydney Metro currently under construction between Blues Point and Barangaroo. The inspection and walk through this amazing engineering work provides local FRNSW stations with an opportunity to understand and plan for the unique challenges it could present in the event of a major incident. 03.01.2022 To most 343 is just a number. To nearly all firefighters around the world, it is a humbling reminder of the events that took place in New York on this day, 19 y...ears ago. This is because on 9/11, 343 New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters did not finish their shift. The tragedy claimed the lives of 2977 innocent victims, and many continue to be impacted. To date, 227 additional firefighters have died with illnesses related to 9/11, with 27 names recently added to the FDNY World Trade Centre Memorial Wall. FRNSW shares deep and personal connections with FDNY, we will never forget the immediate and ongoing loss they were dealt and continue to deal with, all those affected are in our thoughts today. 02.01.2022 More images from yesterday’s car fire in the Sydney Harbour Tunnel. Great work by all involved. The Sydney Harbour Tunnel air management and water deluge systems ensured the environment was safe enough for crews to enter and attack the fire, which was extinguished quickly. As always a collaborative approach between FRNSW, RMS and other agencies ensured this incident was managed safely and efficiently. FRNSW Crews and RMS run regular drills to... ensure that we are ready for tunnel incidents, and we are thankful for the professional and cooperative assistance provided by RMS Incident Management both during drills and at real live incidents. #preparedforanything #FRNSW #harbourtunnel #carfire #sydney Fire and Rescue NSW Station 003 The Rocks Fire and Rescue NSW Station 053 Neutral Bay Fire and Rescue NSW Fire and Rescue NSW Lower North Shore and Northern Beaches Command ME2 See more
