14.01.2022 Literally teeming with beneficial micro-biology and essentially a pro-biotic for your soil and crops, GOGO Juice provides a wide diversity of beneficial bacteria and fungi with the benefits of kelp and humates...and it's now certified organic by the ACO. Nothing has really changed in terms of the microbiology within GOGO Juice. Neutrog's Microbiologist and R&D Manager, Dr. Uwe Stroeher explains... "Testing of the new methodology for preserving GOGO Juice has revealed that the... number of viable bacteria and fungi are not affected by the preserving procedure. Furthermore, DNA analysis examining the diversity of the microbes contained within GOGO Juice is the same as it was for the GOGO Juice preserved using our older method. Also, our examination of the ability to sustain the viability of the microbes within GOGO Juice is not altered by the use of the new preservative. What our new method of preserving achieves is a way in which the microbes are still alive but not metabolically active in their current state, meaning they are in a state of hibernation or stasis. Once diluted, the microbes in essence come out of this state and restart their metabolic activity and growth". www.neutrog.com.au
14.01.2022 We were recently approached by a grower who advised that they suspected they had Phytophthora in their orange & lemon orchard. As most farmers would know, Phytophthora is a fungal disease which is soil and water borne. It causes root and collar rot, which means a slow death to infected trees. The grower’s orchard had been a drought-stressed property and the trees are around 35 years old. These citrus had previously been fed with Bounce Back and Gyganic, but were slowly dying ... which is symptomatic of not taking up nutrients due to Phytophthora. The situation can then be further exacerbated because the trees look dehydrated, so more water is applied and the condition accelerates the collar rot, as Phytophthora thrives in moist conditions. 13.01.2022 Spring is the perfect time to feed lawns and turf. Across the country, golf course superintendents, race courses, Councils, School and Sports Club curators are preparing their respective areas of turf for the traditional changeover of seasons. Many curators are preparing for the changeover from a Football code to Cricket. Upsurge fines were collected from Neutrog yesterday, by Tom Fitzgerald President of Eden Valley Cricket Club and will be applied this coming week.
12.01.2022 Thank you to all our friends who are following our commercial Facebook page. We are absolutely delighted that hundreds of you are so very interested in the farming side of our business. Supplying fertilisers to the farmers who grow the food we eat, has been the backbone of our business and it’s where we started out, way back in 1988. Commercial remains the primary focus of our business. Just in case there are any of our commercial friends who are also keen home gardeners w...e would like to advise that we also have a dedicated home garden Facebook page which can be found at Neutrog Australia. We take pleasure in responding to your queries and comments to both commercial and retail/home garden followers. We would also like to let you know that on our retail Facebook page, you can also look to us for expert advice, including detailed information on plants, identification, seasonal planting, all things horticultural and of course fertilising. Our team have many years of experience in their field and you can look to them with confidence, for knowledge and information. Please don’t hesitate to visit/like either page and we look forward to hearing from you.
11.01.2022 The BAD Guys! In the Neutrog Lab, alongside growing the 'good' fungi and bacteria we also study, the 'bad' ones. Currently, Dr. Uwe Stroeher is working on fungal and oomycete plant pathogens which cause disease in a range of plants (too many to list here). These specimens are pretty impressive to look at on the plates in the lab, but the bugs that create these amazing forms can also create pretty impressive damage in commercial crops and home gardens. 10.01.2022 Twenty-five years ago, Paul Neighbour & his family had a 10HA bush block on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. It was a wonderful place to retreat to, relax and enjoy. The family realised that they wanted more land. Two hundred acres became available, which was part of a larger property, so they made that purchase. Over the next few years, more land came onto the market which eventually allowed them to extend the farm to encompass over 800HA. Many years of planning & hard work have made the beautiful Mirambeena and Yala Yala Springs, into the thriving cattle property it is today. Click to read more > http://ow.ly/MMRH50Bkl8Q
09.01.2022 It’s been said that a picture tells a thousand wordswe’re not so sure though, given this photo. The farmer we were vising recently (who’d purchased the property a few years ago) didn’t know the story behind it, and we became very curious. Whatever could have happened here; to get a wheelbarrow and hat flattened and squished near the ceiling of a relatively brand-new shed? It’s just like when you see anything that’s out of place and you wonder how on earth did that get there. What’s the background? Why, how, who Does anyone have similar stories to tell, or, an explanation or suggestion for this photo?

07.01.2022 We were going through some old archives from 2008 and came across some Seamungus trials undertaken in the Virginia area of South Australia by the late Vic Szabo, an independent consultant agronomist. Seamungus was applied to carrots at 1 tonne per hectare prior to seeding, which produced a yield increase of 11% over the control area, resulting in an additional return of $1365 per hectare. Most significantly, the pack out of the treated area produced substantially less second...s (see graph). This is consistent with the results achieved in other vegetable crops grown with Seamungus. Vic concluded in his trial report In organic carbon-poor soils, Seamungus produced better quality and higher yields. It is obvious that Seamungus in tuber and root crops improved the utilisation of synthetic fertilisers, NPK and Calcium. It also improved the uptake of Zinc, Manganese, Copper, Boron and Molybdenum. On the basis of the figures presented in this report, Seamungus applications in poor organic carbon soil offer a number of benefits including a greatly reduced uptake of Sodium. Seamungus is a soil and plant conditioner manufactured by composting seaweed, fish, humic acid and manure. It undergoes a unique composting process, specifically developed to stabilise nutrients, maximise nutrient availability and to ensure the product is free of any parasites, pathogens and weed seeds. Most importantly, the resultant product retains the microbiology necessary for a ‘living’ product. The benefits of applying organic materials such as seaweed and humic acid are well documented in particular, seaweed contains naturally occurring growth stimulants along with a wide range of other essential elements, ideal for promoting plant growth and health. www.neutrog.com.au
03.01.2022 They say a picture paints a thousand wordsthese pictures show the original logo from when Neutrog first commenced manufacturing fertilisers at its site in Kanmantoo, South Australia back in 1988..........an Australian owned and operated company whose founders had farming origins. Those same characteristics remain relevant today.
02.01.2022 Neutrog's Microbiologist and R&D Manager, Dr. Uwe Stroeher's recent article 'Plant Growth Promoting Microbes' was recently published in the spring issue of the The Australian Agronomist Magazine. Uwe discusses how the microbes in the soil and on the plant can influence plant growth and development. Click to read more: http://ow.ly/Up9K50BmEew
