01.01.2022 Let's talk environment! As an artist using acrylic paints it is important to know that these shouldn't be poured down the drain! They can not only clog up your pipes, they are plastics that shouldn't be dumped into the sewage! So how can you do your part for being a conscious and environmental friendly artist if what you create is what you love? Reduce - reuse - recycle Reduce your paint waste by using it all, storing it for later (see picture, it is usable after weeks when... stored airtight), catching your drips for reuse or proper disposal. The last dregs in my paint cups (which will get replaced by washed out glass jars once they are no longer reusable) are let to dry and then they are easily pulled out with my stir sticks or large tweezers. No need for rinsing under water! As you can see by the looks of my stirers and cups they get reused over and over again. Once they do break they go into recycling and the paint goes into garbage. But it is as little as possible because I make sure I use as much as possible before letting it dry. Do what you love, but look behind you as well and keep the dirty footprints you leave behind you as faint as possible! Happy creating! See more
