24.01.2022 Congratulations to Dr Kate Penfold - the 2020 winner of the Phillip Bookallil Prize. Kate says I am incredibly honoured to have been awarded the Phillip Bookallil Prize for Rural General Practice. Coming from a rural community myself, I have always been interested in rural medicine. This interest grew with each placement and with each meeting of an inspiring rural GP. I have started working this year at Albury Wodonga Health, and am loving my time in the Murray region. I am... currently planning on training in Western Victoria as a rural GP, with advanced training in anaesthetics and emergency medicine through the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. A career goal of mine would be to work with the RFDS at some point, but long term I would like to split my time between a GP practice and a local rural hospital emergency department. We wish Kate has great success with her career and goals. See more
