It's been one hell of a year for most of us. But God got us through, this is the time to tell everyone close to you , how much you love and appreciate them. 24.01.2022 Dear New Jax City Hoops , Friends and Family. This has been one Hell of a Year.It seems like we been to hell and back. Then we lost a lot of love one along the way, and it hasn't stop. Times have gotten hard for a lot of people. We have to be thankful that were still hear, it is important that we look after yourself and your family. Please if you have grandparents go and see how that are, and there ok. It's time to do some of the things, you have been putting off. And spend that extra time with the people you love. 21.01.2022 Here we are in Cairns for the U/14 state championships. This is the time you find out who you can count on and how much work you really have put in. We've played two teams so far, and they don't play as a team at all. The lack of solid fundamentals came back to hurt us badly. It is very hard to win a game ,when most of the players, play one on one and seem to have no idea of team work. So we start the championships with no wins and two losses. The boys have to shake this off and find how to compete.

20.01.2022 Our boy's have got a job working at a gas station it's going on the second week and so far so good.Starting time is from 5am to 9am on one day and 5pm to 9 pm the next. Because of there age and Schooling but this is a good thing for them and it teaches how to work with others and communicate with different people.We so happy for them, because they ask me about working and I seen the paperwork on the desk, saying looking for junior staff and I asked about it.Went home and ask the boys and thay Sayed yes . Now the savings and the bank come into the picture. I hope that thay can stick to it and have a real go. We love them and support them . Coach Harold McMath

15.01.2022 Hello New Jax City Hoops familiies and friends. It's been a long time since the last time I wrote .But today I learned we might not play basketball for the rest of the year, due to corona virus . If you want to play basketball up here, there's no contact and that makes no sense to me at all when Mackay doesn't even have a case. It's like the boys and girls are missing out for no reasonI . I can understand we all have to scale down a bit, you can have up to 50 people at a ...gathering, but if you're son or daughter are playing basketball, all you can do is drop them off and pick them up. No one is allowed to come in and watch them play. But if you go to Shopping Centres people are everywhere. Same thing with other places - libraries, supermarkets etc when you go I understand we have to be cautious and careful by making sure we wash our hands and use bacterial wipes but not being able to watch your kids play is a little unfare. I guess It's the nature of the beast, this corona virus have changed our lives. We are living in dangerous times and it's happening all over the World. The best thing we can do is to look after each other and make sure elderly Neighbours are safe, and pray for a better day. God is Good. See more

We know it won't be the same, but it's another opportunity for us to come together. The sooner we can get our kids back on court and playing the better. 13.01.2022 New Jax City Hoops families and friends.I have officially started recruiting players.Today. I pick up and under 12s player player at the Shopping Centre , he had his mom and dad there , we had a good talk about what thay want in him. Just like all parents , want to see them improving and having fun. That's what's basketball is all about, meeting people, forming friendships, and team play. This lets them learn more about themselves, and there capabilities. Teaching them man ...to man or girl to girl defence as well as team defence. Offence is easy to learn , everyone wants to shoot. So basically it's about putting player's in there favourite spots on the court. Most of all is teaching them how to work hard together, and believe in each other . 13.01.2022 It's been a while, and as our lives change and go in different directions, it's.time to take a good look at whats' around you. I mean a good look and take note of what is important to you. The world has changed , we are starting to turn on each other and I never in a million years though we be still fighting racism. Love has never had colours or hatred in it and worse of all, we are raising kids in all of this BS. I believe God will Bless those who believe in him. 10.01.2022 New Jax City Hoops familiies and friends.It's been a good weekend of basketball, in Townsville . The boys played under 14 teens, the competition was good , but they wasn't ready for what was to come. The won one game out of four, and two of the games were blowouts. We did not play as a team the whole weekend, the Coaches seems to want to run but, 90percent of the team is playing one on one basketball, and token defence. But it's not there fault, we as Coaches should now bett...er, one of the common rules are learn to Play man to man defence, 2. Team defence, 3. Make sure all your plays believe in what you are doing and thay understand why.4. make sure that can pass the ball and now how to received the ball.And last thay have to play as a team. 06.01.2022 The U/14 championships are over and we came in 10th spot .We won 1of 7 games, out of 11 teams. The last game on Sunday, the guys played as a team and they won by 24 points. The Head Coach didn't coach, they won with his Assistant coach coaching, and the boys came alive. They played together as a team, like they should have done through the entire tournament.q Coach Harold McMath

04.01.2022 New Jax City Hoops, what's going on! Well the sad news is by moving to a small town, you have to give up somethings. The job is great and the location is fantastic, but the boys basketball had suffered,. This season there are only 3 teams in div one, they really miss playing against good competition week in and week out. But it is what it is, the boys understand I have to put food on the table and a roof over our heads. At this time in our lives, their schooling is top prior...ity. The way everything is going, their education is so important. As long as they're happy and healthy, that's all that counts. We continue to love and support them, and pray to God that when they become young man the world will hopefully be in a better state.
