25.01.2022 Well done to all school rowers on the weekend. It was a great weekend where all rowers made finals on Sunday! Please note, boat unloading and rigging only on Tuesday night.

24.01.2022 A great morning of racing on the Derwent from New Norfolk to Boyer and return. Thanks to Rachelle Midson who took these action photos. Line honours went to the Sandy Bay Masters crew in the 8s, while fastest time of 31min 31 secs was set by TUBC Open Men. The Sharland sculls saw Patrick Bird of North Esk take out both line honours and the fastest time of 40 min 2 secs.... Full results will be posted on rowing manager.



24.01.2022 The move from Rocks Road to the Esplanade is well underway! Many boats have been cleared out of Rocks Road and we are now boating from the new clubhouse.

23.01.2022 --------UPDATED----------- Junior Winter Ergo Training Begins this week at NNRC club rooms.... This will follow the same format as last year, and is intended to help with rowing technique and maintaining some fitness over winter. 4:30-6pm Session 1: Tuesday (begins 19th June) Session 2: Wednesday (begins 20th June) At the moment there will be two sessions a week to accommodate all rowers availability. Please come to your preferred session.

22.01.2022 ROWING SPORTS SCIENCE TESTING - TUESDAY 30th JULY, 4:30pm NNRC Clubrooms... Sports testing is available for all school rowers. Grant Pryor from Rowing Tasmania will be returning for another lot of testing for those who missed it earlier this month.

And just as much fun and excitement on Sunday with the running of the NNRC Aly Cashion Memorial Long Distance race and Sharland Sculls.... Photos and more to come.

20.01.2022 A BIG weekend of rowing at Lake Barrington. New Norfolk masters are rowing in the Tasmanian Masters Championships in a warm up for the main event - the Australian Masters Championships in two weeks time. Good luck !

20.01.2022 New Norfolk rowers has a big presence at the Buckingham Rowing Club’s Kirby Cup this morning. Aiden and Molly rowed in singles, and there were two entries in the pairs with Tom and Ryan, and Evie and Marla. Nicole (from our master’s squad) also rowed in a composite DMCRC quad. There were great performances by all of our rowers. A special mention to the boys in the pair who took out not only line honours in their boat class, but also the fastest pair time.

17.01.2022 Day 1 at SP1 saw some wet and windy conditions at Franklin. Matt and Molly rowed the 5km time trial first up. By the time the Regatta began, the weather was beginning to deteriorate and was eventually called off soon after lunch. ... Matt had a great row in his single while Evie and Molly, Lily and Marla had first races for the season in their pairs. Great efforts in difficult conditions.

17.01.2022 A big morning of racing at New Norfolk this morning! The annual Aly Cashion Long Distance Eights took place over a different "Out-and-back" race format over 9 km. Fourteen crews competed for the trophy. The winners of the event were the DMCRC U16 crew. Second went to the Friends Open crew and third to the TUBC Open Men's crew. Winner of the fastest time - TUBC Open Men's.... Sharland sculls winner over the same course - Jacqui Hope of TUBC. A great turn out of crews also competed in the 2X and 4X events. Thanks to everyone who took part and assisted to make this a memorable event.

16.01.2022 Last weekend saw New Norfolk rowers Matt Byrne and Molly McCausland compete at the Kirby Cup at Buckingham RC- the opening event of the rowing season. Great performances with Matt and Alec Paterson getting first place on overall time in the Double scull. Molly also dug deep to hold on for second place in the handicap single scull event, having only been passed at the final turn.

16.01.2022 New Norfolk rowers returned from Nationals yesterday. Great efforts from Matty Byrne, Portia Cook and Molly McCausland and coach Kelly Graham. All rowers competed in a number of events. Congratulations to Matty and crew mates with a silver medal in the lightweight U23 double (with Alec Patterson) and bronze in the lightweight Open men's quad (With Alec, Ollie Marsden and Connor Ryan). Congratulations to Molly and Portia winning the B Final of the Under 21 women's Pair.

13.01.2022 In support for one of our members Portia Cook, and in remembrance of one of our members who has recently passed away due to cancer, Molly is going to be shaving her head. She will also be raising money to donate to the Cancer Council, as well as donating her hair to Variety to be made into wigs for children battling cancer. It would be greatly appreciated if you could donate to this cause, because any donation will make a difference to those who are battling this terrible il...lness. For those who want to attend the head shave, it will be done after training on Saturday 9th March at around 12pm. Donations will be accepted on the day. 12.01.2022 Congratulations to all rowers who competed in Buckingham RCs Kirby Cup race this morning. NNRC was well represented with women’s quad (Chanel,Charlotte,Ella, Evie and James in the Cox seat), pair (Jess and Molly)and men’s double (Aiden and Tom). Great efforts from all in tricky conditions, with two NNRC crews coming home with a bit of silverware. Tom and Aiden were awarded with the fastest time in the double, and Jess and Molly picked up first across the line in the pair. Thanks to coach Kel for all your hard work and support

12.01.2022 NEW NORFOLK CHRISTMAS PARADE Following the fun of last year, New Norfolk Rowing Club will again be marching in the New Norfolk Christmas Parade.... WHEN: Sat 8th December - 11:30am...after morning training ( next weekend) WHERE: High Street, New Norfolk (near Star and Garter Hotel) THE PLAN: Following training, we will decorate the trailer. Then we will walk up to the High Street for the parade!! Bring along Black and Gold tinsel and streamers, santa hats. etc. Wear your club shirts and hoodies if you have them or wear black and gold where possible. AFTERWARDS: Back to the club.....and as the following day (Sunday 9th Dec) is the NNRC long distance 8 race. For those who are available, it would be much appreciated for some time and any assistance to set up for the race.

09.01.2022 Southern Schools Regatta cancelled due to smoke in the Huon region

09.01.2022 Rowing Conference-Hobart Rowing Tasmania and Decent Rowing have been working together to host a 2-day Rowing Conference in Hobart. It is being held on Saturday ...10th and Sunday 11th August 2019 at Newtown Bay Rowing Centre, Hobart, Tasmania We have tailored it to assist all coaches and rowers learning how to row and coach, both sculling and sweep. We have a great group of presenters over two full days: Click here for further info and registration: John Driessen Brett Crow Drew Ginn Anthony Edwards Annabel Gibson Lia Giovanovits Grant Prior Ken Davey The cost for the two days is only AU$100 (including GST) per attendee including lunches, but with own accommodation. We consider that it will be excellent information for all rowers and coaches involved in the first 5 years of rowing and would encourage all clubs and schools to send as many delegates as they can as all will benefit from the experienced presenters. We have arranged the start time for 10am on Saturday and finishing at 4:30pm on Sunday to allow delegates time to travel. 07.01.2022 Congratulations to all NNRC rowers who competed over the weekend at the State Championships Regatta. Great rows from all this weekend wearing the yellow and black - topping off a great season of growth and improvement and many personal bests. NNRC also came home with one championship- congratulations Aiden and Tom in winning the U19 Pair.... The announcement of State representatives in the 2020 Youth (U21) Eights also saw five NNRC rowers named - well done and good luck in Sydney! 05.01.2022 The most recent additions to the NNRC fleet were christened on evening of Thursday 22nd December. Two single sculls, the "Kelly Graham" and the "Jane Brooks" were each christened by the fabulous people whose name they bear. Kel's contribution to the club and its rowers has been immense over his decades of involvement in rowing. Jane has been a motivating force over many years for young school rowers from Ogilvie and now New Town High to get involved and give it a go.... Thanks Kelly and Jane! And thank to everyone who came for the christening and enjoyed the end of year festivities...

04.01.2022 Also at SP4, the under 17 boys (Ryan Browning, Jevan Housego, Josh Glover, Aiden Midson, Tom Morgan and Magnus McCausland) made their second Pennant Regatta appearance- their first at Lake Barrington. There were plenty of racing highlights with a win or two and improvements across the group. Hoping Josh's altercation with an oar did not seriously affect his ability to play Christmas Carols!

01.01.2022 State Pennant Regatta 4 took place last weekend (16-17 December). New Norfolk was well represented with the debut to Pennant rowing for the Under17 women's crew of Evelyn Bryan, Lily Geappen, Evie Lisson, Marla Terts and cox Charlotte Geappen. There were solid performances on debut from all girls in sculls (singles, double and quad) and sweep rowing (four). Well done!
