22.01.2022 Finally, some common sense has prevailed! From today we are allowed to do logbook and routine servicing and maintenance to keep your cars safe! A huge thank you to the VACC for lobbying relentlessly with the state government to allow this to happen I will be calling all customers that have been in contact with us regarding servicing, and we are now taking bookings for all service work, as well as RWCs, and all our normal work. 22.01.2022 Another Covid post folks - as of 5pm tonight, we will be trading as an "on call" service for emergencies and RWC only ie . we are not allowed to do routine/ logbook servicing or repairs during the Stage 4 lockdown period. We are able to perform repairs such as brakes, starter motors etc.. to get people back on the road if they breakdown. As we are a Vic Roads partner, we are also able to do RWC. We will be available via phone as per normal business hours 97543048. Sorry for any inconvenience. Lets hope 5 weeks lockdown can kick this viruses butt! Stay safe...

20.01.2022 Heading away over Christmas in your caravan? Dont forget they need regular maintenance too.. wheel bearings, lights, brakes and tyres are all things that need looking at periodically, even if you only use your van once a year. Book your van in for its holiday checkover 97543048... you DO NOT want to be that person stuck on the side of the road missing a wheel.

20.01.2022 Brief update on Stage 4 Restrictions... it looks like we can stay open folks, however we are still waiting on clarification of the 5km rule, parts suppliers being allowed to open, Covid safe plan etc. I will update everyone as soon as we get the facts.. hopefully tomorrow!

20.01.2022 ***COVID UPDATE SEPT 10*** *sigh* Just as we were looking forward to getting back to "normal" work next week, the state government has pushed the stage 4 restrictions for another 2 weeks.... For us - this means we will continue to operate by appointment only for emergency repairs and RWCs. I will be contacting everyone personally that is booked in over the next 2 weeks to reschedule. The VACC and AAAA are lobbying hard with the state government to get some restrictions lifted ASAP in regards to servicing and maintenance - we are all concerned about not being able to do routine servicing and maintenance on your cars when due, which includes so many crucial safety checks. Unfortunately in the new "Roadmap" we have been put into the "retail" sector, which potentially means automotive workshops may not be able to properly re-open before the end of October. We are expecting some hopefully good news on this in the next few days, so I will keep everyone updated. Please remember if you have any concerns about your car, give us a call on 97543048. 11.01.2022 Graham is a happy man this weekend... finally got to come and collect his pride and joy from us after a bit of a freshen up. This beautiful GT 500 Ford Cortina came to us last year for an engine oil leak, plus some steering work. Once Shane had pulled the engine apart, he discovered that it had previously had a rebuild, but not with all the GT bits. After chatting to Hans at Highport Cylinder Heads, and Clive at Clive Cams, who luckily both knew lots about these engines, thi...s little Corty now has all the right spec internals plus a bit of extra pocket porting in the head. 10.01.2022 We are all busy disinfecting everything and everyone!! Sanitizers, hand washes, wipes, sprays... the list goes on. We are replacing cabin filters in lots of cars, but we have today discovered this amazing stuff that actually disinfects your entire air con/ heating system! We trialed it in Cindys car, seems to work very well.. $32.95 with any service!

06.01.2022 Message to our customers Coronavirus.... The team at NBM are taking the Covid19 threat very seriously, both in trying to protect ourselves and our families, and all of our wonderful customers, and their families. As of today, we are implementing some extra personal hygiene practices in and around the workshop. There will be tissues and hand sanitiser on the front desk (while we still have some), and a bowl on the front counter for customers to put their car keys in. Keys will... be sprayed or wiped with an antibacterial product and all car steering wheels, door handles, bonnet catches etc will be wiped with antibacterial wipes or spray before and after being worked on. We also ask that customers utilise the Pay Wave or Pay over the Phone options we provide where possible. Please also, if you have been overseas recently, or been in contact with someone that has tested positive, advise us so we can take extra precautions. As we all know, this virus is creating some very unique circumstances for everyone. Like all small business owners at the moment, we are concerned about what the future holds, however we are confident that we will continue to be able to serve you all well into the future with your continued support. 02.01.2022 So rewind to a few months ago, you may remember this sad site.. Cindys car getting a ride back to the shop due to no oil pressure.. turns out the internal oil pump had failed, which is a common fault on these LS engines. The boys pulled the engine out of the car, and once they had discovered there was no major damage, they decided to replace the oil pump and give the engine a few tweaks.. a new camshaft and lifters were ordered. Cam bearings were also checked and replaced as... the old ones were definitely not happy - see pic), plus a set of extractors, catalytic converters and a cold air intake to complete the package. The boys got it going again last night, and wowsers!! What a massive difference those few mods have made. Sounds great, so much more responsive, and hopefully a bit more power. We will find this out once its tuned properly in the next few weeks See more
