22.01.2022 Hi All, With a growing number of clubs withdrawing their sides and placing restrictions on who can enter their premises the Executives have decided to abandon a...ny attempt to play a Mid Week pennant competition for 2020. We thank the clubs for their support in trying to get this event up and running but the ever changing environment has made it too difficult to stage a club competition. Thanks Warren Shipley

22.01.2022 Hi All, Here is the 1st proposal Calendar for 2021 that has been sent to all clubs for comment. As a member of the State Match Committee i can inform you that a... large number of complaints from Coordinators and Zones is that the Calendar is too congested in the first half of the year and completing Club Championships proves difficult. You will note in this Calendar the Pennant season has been programmed for the 2nd half of the year and it is hoped that this is where they will stay for years to come and we can have some stability with the program going forward. Again as a member of the SMC we are aware that not all will be a fan but with this program (if accepted) you will know when all zones championships will be played no matter what zone you play in. This is only a proposal for Zones and Clubs to consider and is not official at this stage.

18.01.2022 Please find listed below players that are required to Mark on Sunday Morning October 18 at 9.00am

18.01.2022 Hi All, At the Zone 2 Executive meeting last night the following decisions were made. 1) 2020 Saturday and Mid-Week Pennants have been abandoned. (28 clubs resp...onded to request regarding recommencing Pennants, 13 for and 15 against) 2) Three Threes will be programmed to commence mid-August. Why 3x3’s and not Pennants? Clubs were not aware of how many players they would have available to continue Pennants however, because entries have not been received for 3x3’s clubs will know what players they have available and enter sides accordingly. 3) Mattara will be programmed to commence Mid-September. 4) Zone Singles followed by Zone 4’s will commence in August and Champion of Champions Singles and Pairs will be played in October, November. 5) State Championships are programmed from October 9. 6) A calendar will be put together and forwarded to clubs in the next day or two outlining the remainder of the season. Obviously all of the above depends on the government lifting restrictions enough to allow the numbers required on the green and what the 2nd wave of infections is like now that businesses are commencing to reopen.

15.01.2022 Just announced by the Sports Minister on 2GB Sydney, all community sport can recommence July 1!!!! Some guidelines to come in the next few days.

12.01.2022 Hi All, I would like some feedback from players as to if they would rather play 3x3's or play Mid Week Pennants? Mid week would start from scratch with entries ...called for again and new draw completed. it would be sections of 4 or 3 with a bye played home and away over 6 weeks with section winners into playoffs. this would take around 10 weeks which is the same time allocated for 3x3's this would also guarantee clubs at least 6 matches (4 if you have a bye) while in 3x3's you are only guaranteed 2 matches. Please note there would be a 1 or 2 week break during any of these comps for Mattara in September.

11.01.2022 Please be advised that the Under 25 singles due to be played at Kahibah tonight has been postponed.

11.01.2022 With the announcement by NSW Health to place community sport restrictions for Region/Zone/State events, Womens Bowls NSW & Bowls NSW have produced an information sheet to help answer the most common enquiries. https://rnswba.org.au//faq-regarding-community-sport-rest/

03.01.2022 Just to bring you all up to date with the latest developments. Bowls NSW have asked all Zones to supply information relating to Zone events completed or not and... how much time required to complete the remaining events. They have also asked if Zones wish to complete pennants. This information from all Zones will be compiled and a video meeting with all of the 16 Zone President, Secretary, Match Chairperson and State Councillor will be held next Friday May 29. As stated in another post, with Bowls Australia announcing they will be running the "Nationals" in November this will mean Bowls NSW will be trying to complete both the State Championships and State Champion of Champions which will obviously require Zones to find their winners as a priority when we resume play. Once the meeting for Zones is held the Zone 2 Executives will meet to discuss a program of events for the remainder of the year. Zone 2 has indicated to BNSW that they wish to complete pennants if possible realising that other events will take precedence over pennant play. After the Executive meeting, clubs will be contacted for comment on information received from the Zones' video session. This will take time and I can't see any Zone events taking place before at least August and this will depend on the government restrictions on the number of people allowed to gather in a outside group, currently this is still 10 per green for practice only so we wait for further relaxation of restrictions. It is predicted that clubs will be allowed up to 100 in the not to distant future but the question is will this be 100 inside and another 100 outside? If it is only 100 total I am doubting clubs would want 100 bowlers and would prefer 100 members that like to play the gaming machines. Still a lot of unanswered questions but BNSW and the Zones are doing their best to put some kind of plan in place in these uncertain times.

01.01.2022 Dust off your bowls, iron your uniform and get set to return to play. Read the latest update on our return to playing the sport we all love. https://rnswba.org.au//10/organised-bowls-to-resume-1-july/
