14.01.2022 WOW - Brian Prior receiving his 25 year award in Toastmasters. Last night he admitted that he used to be shy and think everyone else at business meetings knew more than him. But after learning confidence in Public Speaking through Toastmasters, he couldn't wait to be the first to speak. And he speaks so well now, inspiring and educating, that he also took out The Presidents Award at last nights meeting. CONGRATULATIONS BRIAN!

14.01.2022 Public speaking is more than standing in front of a group and talking; you also need to engage your audience. If you want to improve your public speaking you are more than welcome to join us on Zoom virtual meeting this Thursday from 6:45pm to 9:00pm session. Message us for meeting link.... Thank you!!

14.01.2022 After 5 months of being online we attended our first face to face meeting in August. Welcoming a couple of new members :) If you would like to attend one of our face to face or online meetings send an enquiry and we would love to have you join us!!

13.01.2022 We have a special announcement to make... Speechcraft is up and running again at the start of this year!!! For those of you who don't know, speechcraft is an 8 week course that provides fundamental skills in public speaking, both impromptu and prepared. I have attached 2 images of the current flyer and I encourage you all to look at it because it provides so much detailed information about what speechcraft is and why it is important.... Many people who complete speechcraft often go on to be very effective communicators. Simon, who won the area 15 humorous speech contest, started his Toastmaster career by completing speechcraft only a few short months prior to the contest. If you have any questions, please feel free to message the page or get in contact with Brian (who will be running the course) via phone 0415 081 610 or email [email protected].

12.01.2022 Tip of the Day: practice in front of your mirror.Tip of the Day: practice in front of your mirror.

12.01.2022 2019 Contest was a HUGE success! Table Topics had 11 contestants with Stewart Todhunter 3rd place followed by Naomi Turrell 2nd and Sheb Giner taking out top honour. The Humorous Speech had 4 contestants; Rosalie Grayson 3rd followed by Simon Turpin 2nd and Rick Di Mercola First Place. A couple of years ago, NONE of these folks would have dared to speak in public. And just looked at them now.... Toastmasters is a fun way to gain new skills. As Sheb says, it's "an amazing way to boost confidence and meet like minded people." If you're curious, come join us as a Visitor on a Thursday night! See you 6;45 before our 7pm sharp start. Thanks to Newlake Toastmasters Club (which meets fortnightly on a Tuesday night) for helping with judging!

11.01.2022 If you are looking to improve your public speaking... maybe you’d like to join us as a visitor on a Zoom virtual meeting. Simply let me know via pm your name, and email address to send the link. We meet Thursdays 6:45pm for 2 hours!

10.01.2022 I hope to see you all at our Toastmasters Meeting tonight starting at 6:45 pm! It is going to be a fun and interesting night. Everyone is welcome to come along!

10.01.2022 Our Christmas Party was heaps of fun! Especially playing the Dirty Santa Game where you had to talk for 60 seconds about the gift you unwrapped. Note how well our members use their hands ... and the fun of unusual gifts! We had a great turn out of members, family and partners... something like 25 of us! Loved the Trivia competition and having a meal with you all.... Such great experience to speak in a noisy environment too. See you at our next meeting 16 Jan Thursday night - have a very happy and healthy holiday and may you SPEAK UP when the opportunity arises. If you have any pics from the night, please share!

09.01.2022 Congratulations to Ian for taking the award for his first role as Evaluator. Well done!
