08.01.2022 AGM Notification This post is to advise the the AGM for the Newcastle and Hunter Community Rugby League Assoc. will be held on the 2nd December 2020, 7pm at the Hexham bowling club.... Nominations are now open and forms will be sent out to clubs. If you would like a form see your club or email - [email protected] and one can be sent to you. Nomination forms need to be received by December 1st 2020. We ask that only 1 member from each club attend the AGM meeting due to COVID restrictions.

04.01.2022 On my last day in this role would just like to thank all the clubs, committee's, supporters, and specifically the club administrators, for making the last 5 years successful and enjoyable at my level. Very proud of the fact that this competition, through everyone's efforts, has become the numerically largest senior RL comp in the world. Equally proud of the fact we were able to introduce both Ladies League Tag and Women's Tackles to the Region, which has obviously exploded ...since. It was mine, and should remain, the competitions goal to have as many women playing our game (LLT or WT) as men within 3 years. The long term prospects for the community game here are very exciting. The next 6 -12 months will be very informative and enlightening for those involved!! I am off to other work opportunities but will stay involved in the game through an offer from NSWRL, so will see a lot of you around in the years ahead, just in another role. Thanks again Dave Wild

01.01.2022 Congratulations goes to Stroud club stalwart and NHCRL legend Simon Chappell who, at 54 years of age, today plays his last game of Rugby League. "Chappo" has been playing for over 40 years and at his height spent time at Manly in their halcyon days. Locally has played for Fingal Bay, Port Stephens Sharks, Northern Blues and finally Stroud, where he also coaches the successful League Tag side. I cannot think of anyone who epitomises the community essence of this competition more than him, and not a bad bloke as well. Only fitting that his final game is against local rivals Dungog. Good luck this arvo mate and enjoy retirement.
