22.01.2022 Good ride today

22.01.2022 Thank you to all who attended our 1 Dayers on Sunday. The day was a huge success with 38 rides across the country. We're still counting numbers, but we think th...ere may have been in excess of 6,000 people on our rides yesterday. Also a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all our awesome volunteers who give up their time to make these awareness raising events happen. You guys are all very much appreciated, and you deserve to feel proud for what you have achieved together. Again, THANK YOU!

04.01.2022 We know many of you look to Black Dog Ride to provide much needed social connection and support, and we take this responsibility seriously. However, as we work ...as a team to combat the spread of COVID-19, we wanted to share with our community the steps we are taking. Noting that your health and well-being is our primary concern. As such, and in line with the federal Department of Health’s request for all people to self-isolate, we are immediately suspending all Black Dog Ride organised events until further notice. Unfortunately, this will include the Red Centre 2020 ride due to start in August. If you have already registered for this ride, we would like to assure you that your registration will be refunded in full over the coming weeks. Our mission to raise awareness of mental health and suicide prevention remains critical. Although we will not be running events for now, rest assured we plan to use this time to make sure we come back bigger and stronger once this COVID 19 crisis is over. Now is a time to support each other as best we can, so we will stay in touch with you. Please take care of yourselves. We would also like to offer our community the following information to ensure you are well informed and in the best possible position to maintain your health and well-being: Stay informed, though only use information from reputable sources such as the Department of Health COVID-19 website - https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-news-and-m Support others in your community, look out for your neighbours particularly the elderly who can be very isolated at this time. Keep connected to your community on phone, email and social media Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water is not readily available, use a hand sanitiser with at least 60 per cent alcohol Avoid handshaking, hugging and kissing as a greeting Regularly disinfect high touch surfaces, such as tables, kitchen benches and doorknobs Increase ventilation in the home by opening windows or adjusting air conditioning Visit shops sparingly and buy more goods and services online Consider whether outings and travel, both individual and family, are sensible and necessary Stay home if you’re sick and do not expose others. If you are unwell with flu-like symptoms, do not go outside your property or home, do not go to work, school or shops unless it is essential. Talk with your doctor and pharmacist about getting an emergency supply of any medications being taken regularly by you or your family. Avoid crowds where possible. If unavoidable, keep the time short Use debit and credit cards instead of cash and make use of online and self-serve transactions (eg. opal cards on public transport) If you need to use public transport, try to do this in off-peak periods This is going to be a very trying time for all, if you are experiencing a mental health crisis, or with someone who is, please act promptly, keep yourself and/or the person in crisis safe, and call one of the helplines listed below.
