25.01.2022 Whilst The Central Coast Bonsai Club had been very confident of proceeding with the Bonsai and Shohin Open competition on 12 & 13 September, recent events in Vi...ctoria and NSW have concerned us. After careful deliberation and in the interest of public safety we have no option but to cancel the Bonsai and Shohin Open event for this year. We would like to express our thanks to the many people who entered either spectacular Bonsai and or Shohin pots which would have undoubtedly ensured a spectacular show and event. We apologise for any inconvenience and trust we can all stay safe and well and look forward to hosting the event in the future. See more

22.01.2022 By Clinton Nesci Yesterday at 9:51 AM (16th February) Dear Family and Friends, just a quick message to let you all know in case you aren't aware Dad got back home last Wednesday from rehab. He has been doing some light work activities in the nursery assisted by my sister Janel for a few hours each day. In between he has been getting plenty of rest and doing lots of eating. Nothing against hospital food but Dad lost 7 kg's in hospital and now weighs the Grand sum of 55kg. I... have to keep an eye on him that he doesn't blow away with the wind..... He continues to improve each day and has lots of family to interact with and to keep those voice muscles strong. He can walk around unassisted but my sister is his shadow just to make sure he doesn't have any falls. If you see him in the nursery please say hi but please don't take it the wrong way if he acknowledges you and just keeps walking as although his memory is sharp he isn't showing a lot of awareness at the moment and can just zone out of situations. It also can take him awhile to process some questions or situations. But on the positive side it's great to have Dad back and we know there is tremendous improvement going to happen over the next year and lots of great therapy can happen in his own backyard. Thank You for all your prayers , well wishes and love over the last 6 weeks for Dad and our family. Clinton See more

He will be returning pots that were made by some members at the workshop late last year and a range of saleable pots for our other members to purchase. He will be bringing his wheel to throw (not literaly) some examples so if your brave enough you might be able to try your hand. We also need names for workshop places in the afternoon of the March meeting with David Tyson, our visiting demonstrator from Wahope club.

21.01.2022 Our July meeting has been given the go ahead with the 2mtr rule applying as the Hall size has the floor area to allow our normal numbers. Please use the hand sanitizers provided at entry point and consume your own byo food. If you are attending please see the information in the Members July Newsletter. Theme will be Deciduous for show table and workshop as it is after all winter, so wiring and any design changes should be at hand for a busy return. Great time to also re-pot and there will be a limited number of bags available.
