23.01.2022 NEWCASTLE NOT A HOTSPOT I have seen posts today advising that Newcastle has been declared a hotspot. I can confirm this is not true. I have spoken with HNE ...Health and NSW Health again this afternoon and can confirm that the Newcastle Local Government Area is NOT a hotspot. The NSW Government website which lists areas and suburbs with increased testing has had the Newcastle LGA listed for the last 2 weeks since the St Pius and St Francis Xavier school boy cases were detected. The last known case in Newcastle of COVID-19 was confirmed on 6 August. Newcastle has been named as an area for "increased testing".
