19.01.2022 As a proud sponsor of the Mentor Support Network (MSN) scholarships, we were honored to attend the 13th Educational Scholarships presentation, where 43 local students were presented with scholarships to assist with their educational expenses in 2020.

19.01.2022 Throughout Movember NCIG staff and contractors are growing a MO and organising a number of activities to increase awareness around mental health and raise funds for charity. So far more than $9,000 has been raised throughout the month of November! Check out the photos of just a few of the fundraising activities we've had so far. A big thank you to NCIG’s contract partners for sponsoring the activities and to Rotary Club of East Maitland for cooking up a storm for us last week.

18.01.2022 Charlestown East Public School applied for the Community Support Program to create an outdoor learning and play area for special needs students. The school is excited to announce that construction has recently been completed and the kids are loving the new space! A previously high traffic area that was unable to grow grass has now been transformed into a large play area with synthetic turf, outdoor play equipment and picnic tables.

Such an inspiring group of volunteers dedicated to social inclusion of people immigrating to the Hunter region. NCIG is a partner of the Simba FC and is thriled to provide financial support so that this amazing Club can continue to kick goals (pun intended)!

15.01.2022 On Friday we hosted a BBQ lunch and invited our staff and contractors to enjoy a sausage sandwich and pitch in a donation towards the amazing work Lifeline Hunter Central Coast do in supporting the mental health of our community. Together we raised over $3300.00 that will go to help Lifeline deliver their services to the community. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported such a wonderful service.

14.01.2022 The Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toy Run is an extraordinary festive season favourite that takes place annually on the first Sunday of December. For over 40 years, this extraordinary and passionate volunteers commit to raising toys and funds for kids in need and the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal. Jump on your bike and support this wonderful community event this Sunday. Riders will congregate in Stockton from 8-9.30am, then arrive at Wickham Park just after 10am. Bring the fam...ily for a day of fun while supporting a fantastic cause. Proud to support the event via our Community Support Program.

14.01.2022 The NCIG team is proud to offer continued support to Mission to Seafarers Newcastle (MTS), the recipient of our 2019 three-year Community Partnership Program. MTS offers invaluable support to seafarers visiting the Port of Newcastle, providing practical, emotional and spiritual support. Ensuring seafarers are well cared for and have the time and resources to recharge before they start their long journey home is very important to NCIG. Now more than ever, MTS is providing esse...ntial support to our seafarers as their conditions have worsened with COVID restrictions, seeing vessel crew unable to leave vessels while in Port. 07.01.2022 As most of you would already know, we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary throughout 2020! The 10YA committee have been working throughout the year planning lots of little surprises for the team, and on Monday, they revealed a new look reception area and signage for the building. We hope all staff and visitors to site enjoy this new space.

06.01.2022 Due to COVID-19, Variety - the Childrens Charity Australia have experienced a large increase in requests for technology grants for disadvantaged families in recent months. NCIG was able to continue to support Variety during their last round of funding, which gave Variety the ability to provide 10 local families a laptop package for their school-aged children to complete schooling from home.

05.01.2022 As you would know, giving back to the community in which we operate is of utmost importance to us here at NCIG and we believe now more than ever, we need to band together and do what we can to help those in need. We recently donated over $100,000 to local charities and organisations who provide primary social welfare programs such as mental health services and the supply of essential health and wellbeing services to the vulnerable and disadvantaged. 02.01.2022 New Inbound Record In May we recorded a new company record for the largest inbound tonnes (unloaded from trains) in a 24-hour period. This is a great achievement and highly commendable effort to all of our staff, particularly during the recent challenging months.

01.01.2022 NCIG is making a strong commitment to renewable energy with GreenPower! We’ve recently signed a two-year contract to source at least 10% of our energy from renewables. In our first quarter alone, we have used 2GWh of green electricity, which equates to a 2,000t reduction in GHG emissions - the equivalent of 1,700 cars, which completely offsets the direct ...
