24.01.2022 Congratulations @jesseewart A solid ride in the Australian Elite Men’s Road Race to finish 5th.

24.01.2022 The cycling community is a close knit of people who share the fun and sport of riding bikes. We get to know each other and lasting friendships are forged. So it is sad when one of the cycling family passes away because we lose a member of our community. Today we received this email from Andrew Collins: Hi [NCC]. I am the son in law of the late Dick Tresidder Jnr, a Newcastle road champion along with his brothers. His father Dick Tresidder Snr was also a road champion and Ol...ympic Schuller. Dick jnr broke his neck in an accident after returning from the European tour and was a quadriplegic for 40+ years cared for by his wife Audrey. They ran Tresidder Cycles at Hamilton for many years. Sadly Audrey Tresidder passed away in her sleep last night. The elder statesmen of cycling that I had the privilege of meeting at the opening of the Sydney Olympic Velodrome simply referred to her as 'the angel. There are a number of Dick Tresidder’s contemporaries still around who are no doubt saddened with hearing of her passing. Vale Audrey Tresidder Information of funeral arrangements will be posted at an attachment to this post when available.

17.01.2022 Well Australia Day didn’t disappoint, like who doesn’t love a bike race, a hot summer’s day and a thousand bush flies, the local constabulary keeping the locals at bay, a gorky goanna in a tree and some 90 odd competitors across 5 grades including some juniors.

11.01.2022 Racing with NCC and HDCC at HEZ, New COVID Racing Guidelines

10.01.2022 Hi Folks. Have you contributed to the City of Newcastle survey on cycling yet?

09.01.2022 It was great to see keen riders back for our first race since February. I think everyone did a good job of social distancing & worked with the club to make online entries work really successfully. Thanks A few photos of yesterday’s first race back...the angles don’t really show that people were spaced fairly nicely. They did capture a few isolation beards. See you next week @ HEZ

07.01.2022 AUSTRALIA DAY RACING tomorrow 8am. Online entries close tonight 10:57:36 pm [NCC Australia Day Racing (buncheur.com)](https://www.buncheur.com/newcastle-cc-ncc-graded-scratch-ra)... Bring your Mobile to the starters deck when checking in. Please bring your own refreshments.

04.01.2022 Sunday 17 January - Graded Scratch Race Another great turn out today with near perfect conditions for the early morning start. We saw some solid break away attempts with Luke Kendall and the evergreen Bryan Atkins managing to stay away for the podium. Col Haisel made B Grade work hard with plenty of time off the front. Most notable ride today was Hayley Dell in D Grade who took the win comfortably. Hayley is certainly a young rider to watch out for in the future.... Welcome as well to a number of new riders who managed to feature in the D and E grade results. We hope you enjoyed your first race and look forward to seeing you next week. Thank you again to the traffic controllers, first aid, Commissaire and starters. Without volunteers we do not have racing. If you know someone who has some time we are always happy to see new faces and to spread the load. Todays podiums: A Grade 1st: Owen Tooley 2nd: Will Kirkham 3rd: Grant Souter B Grade 1st: Grant Everett 2nd: Jayson Carr 3rd: Arthur Snow 4th: Derek Craig C Grade 1st: Luke Kendall 2nd: Bryan Atkins 3rd: John Beckers 4th: Hugh Jones 5th: Terrence Flynn D Grade 1st: Hayley Dell 2nd: Willem Potgieter 3rd: Russ Hancock 4th: Brenden Kelana 5th: Alan Bradley E Grade 1st: Mark Marsland 2nd: Michaela Rennie 3rd: David Ralston F Grade 1st: Kevin Poetschka 2nd: Noushka Delon Asmar Racing next Sunday will be conducted by HDCC at HEZ. Don't forget the Annual Australia Day Public Holiday race on Tuesday 26th January. We are expecting big numbers in all grades for this super popular public holiday race. Make your plans now.
