25.01.2022 The busy week continues for Newcastle Fire Station. Mid afternoon on Sunday, crews were first on scene to a unit fire in Bar Beach. On arrival we found a 3rd level unit well alight with smoke and heat threatening neighbouring units. ... Luckily the occupant and his K9 companion self evacuated safely with neighbours assisted to safety by firefighters. The first photo shows smoke and heat issuing after the flames had been knocked down with hose lines.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the filtration unit, gaining access to the roof using out 37m Ladder Platform. ... This has been Newcastle Fire Station’s go-to truck for all types of rescue incidents as well as firefighting support with a heap of specialised equipment. 01.01.2022 Lucky escape for a driver in Cooks Hill earlier this morning. Firefighters secured the vehicle before the driver was removed suffering minor injuries. Our rescue brothers from Lambton Fire Station helped with the recovery.... Not so lucky for the fence!
