25.01.2022 Last week in East End Early Education and Preschool we had lots of fun celebrating the Chinese New Year. As part of the Newcastle Grammar School and East End Early Education and Preschool partnership, children attending East End's Preschool program participate in Chinese language and culture lessons twice a week. Through play and interactive learning led by Miss Julia, the children enjoyed Chinese language, craft, music and food. By exploring different cultures and diversity children are able to develop greater understanding and make connections with the world around them. Our Preschool New Year’s festival was full of fun, laughter, learning and embracing the Chinese culture. Xnnián kuàilè!

11.01.2022 As part of our Visible Wellbeing program, our Secondary mentor groups recently got involved in a fun automatic negative thought (ANT) piñata smashing activity. Students had a great time getting to know each other better and participating in discussions around coping with negative thoughts in challenging situations - meanwhile, inflicting plenty of chaos on the piñata of course! AT NGS, we believe that wellbeing is more than just a saying - it should be seen, heard and felt throughout our entire community. The piñata activity is just one of many activities planned thought the year that form part of our evidence-based approach to developing and sustaining our students’ wellbeing.
