The competition is for kids aged 9 to 13 years, with stories between 500 and 1000 words. Entries will be shortlisted and reviewed by a judging panel of local authors who will award one winner and one runner up. Winners will receive Paul Jennings book packs. 11.01.2022 Course: Life in the Universe We will be considering the prospects for finding life in the universe, looking for the ingredients for life, finding myriads of planets and the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence. Presenter: Dr John Carr... John Carr has worked primarily as a psychologist in both clinical and academic settings and lectured at universities in Australia and the USA. He was pleased to retire back to Newcastle to compose music, explore deep-sky astronomy, and to present a diversity of U3A classes covering worldviews, wellbeing and 'the good life', astronomy, and theology and 'the big questions'.
