19.01.2022 Today marks the start of Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Action Week 2020. This year’s theme is ‘Tell someone who cares’. This year, more than ever, it is vita...l that expecting and new parents who are struggling know they’re not alone and can reach out for help. And just as importantly, they can know that when they do reach out, they will be supported by those they confide in. We know that parents of multiples are at increased risk of developing perinatal anxiety or depression, says Ashlee Tenberge, AMBA Chairperson. So it’s important for all our members to know that there is information and support available to help them whether during pregnancy or in early parenthood. 12.01.2022 Got a feeling that someone you know or care about it isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’...re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it. Amongst plenty of positive experiences and the joys of raising multiples, the multiple birth community also face challenging realities such as poorer physical and developmental health outcomes for mothers and babies. When considering the family unit, health is not just the absence of disease, but encompasses a holistic view of physical, mental and social well-being.
