But there are plenty more who work behind the scenes and fill different roles, from our grading committee members , Judiciary... To all of you we say Thank You for everything you do to making our game great. #NationalVolunteersWeek #waveforvolunteers #newcastlemenshockey #newcastlejuniorboyshockey

12.01.2022 We continue our recognition to our volunteers during National Volunteers Week. In Newcastle Hockey there is no bigger person who has worked in different roles within our association from coaching, managing, selector, umpire and a sounding board to many with his knowledge and has continued promoting our sport and the Newcatle area over many many years. Today we recognise David Willott.... While most people will recognise David donning his blue Norths playing strip and leading his young chargers around the field most people don't the know the HUGE role David plays across our Mens and Junior committee's. David has been our Newcastle Junior Boys President for a number of years and works tirelessly on making sure our Juniors across all clubs are involved in our game. He has overseen our Junior Boys Representatives side claim multiple titles over this time. David has had roles as a selector, coach and manager over a number of age groups. Newcastle Junior Boy have been named Junior Association of the Year on a number of occasions. David also sits on our Newcastle Mens Committee spending plenty of time with other Commitee member ensuring the running of our Mens competition. David has also been at the forefront as our coach for the Newcastle Mens Hockey side which will see David mentor the boys again this year to defend their state crown they won in 2019. While not being involved in Newcastle Hockey David than spends more of his time assisting in the running of his beloved club Norths, coaching and passing valuable knowledge to the clubs junior and seniors players. David does not seek attention on the roles he plays in our Associaton and puts his hand up whenever there is assistance required. So to David on behalf of all Newcastle Mens and Juniors and Parents. we say THANK YOU mate for your dedication and commitment to our game.
