20.01.2022 Is the recent decision by CoN an increase or a decrease for you?

18.01.2022 It’s often hard dredging through websites. You know the phrase, It’s all on the website. For those who may not know regarding rate relief, this is a must! https://www.newcastle.nsw.gov.au//Financial-Hardship-Suppo

18.01.2022 We salute you! Business is not always about business. We should be proud of these operators. Don't you think?

18.01.2022 It seems this ruling has greater ramifications. As we always believed we were complying. As did Jill Gaynor. "But Judge Curtis said Newcastle Now had submitted adequate business plans from 2012 to 2017 and it was "wrong of Mr Bath to suggest otherwise".What do you think? https://www.newcastleherald.com.au//newcastle-council-ap/

16.01.2022 We would like to know your thoughts? https://www.newcastleherald.com.au//newcastle-500-facing/

15.01.2022 We would like to acknowledge the strength of Jill Gaynor. Newcastle Now Business Improvement Association (NBIA) was dismissed over its dealings and reportage with a main CoN officer, Ms. Jill Gaynor. The officer was sacked over their management of the BIA’s. Last week that officer was exonerated from the dismissal by the CEO of CoN over this issue.... Judge James Curtis has ruled that CoN must honour its contract with that officer. CoN must pay recompense to the officer. Damages are yet to be ruled upon. The Judge has ruled that CoN was wrong in dismissing the officer over their management of NBIA reporting. The CEO of CoN at the time was Jeremy Bath. Mr. Bath continues as the CEO. Much public comment accompanied the dismissal, particularly regarding NBIA's mismanagement of ratepayer funds. Much of it by the CEO Mr. Bath. The officer dismissed did nothing wrong but has suffered for 2 years with no hope of future employment due to the state of the dismissal. Tough on the officer. Who took on the ratepayer-funded defence of their injustice. And tough on our Voluntary Board of Newcastle Now (and staff). Who satisfied all compliance conditions required and collaboratively developed by CoN in its Deed of Agreement between CoN and NBIA. Mr. Bath also ignored our requests for mediation. (a clause available under the Deed of Agreement) The Judge has ruled on 3 separate occasions in his findings that; Mr. Bath was wrong. We make no further comment at this time. The matter is now public record. Ms Gaynor has been through a trial and been vindicated. Her tenacity and strength serve as a testament and a powerful example of the Spirit of Newcastle. Jill, we wish you all the best in the future. It was a pleasure working with you and fellow officers who suffered from this error of management. https://www.newcastleherald.com.au//judge-rules-bath-wro/

12.01.2022 CoN Budget submissions have been extended until this Thursday at 5pm. Please make a submission. The Report was compiled BEFORE Covid hit. We think it needs a serious rethink, especially with $380M sitting in reserves. How about you? https://www.newcastle.nsw.gov.au//Pro/Our-Budget-2020-2021
