19.01.2022 I'm happy to say that in view of further easing of COVID restrictions the number of support people in the birthing suite is now increased from one to two.The other visiting restrictions remain in place for the time being. Brett Dennett, General Manager

17.01.2022 Newcastle Private is following NSW Public Health by having all visitors wear a mask, preferably their own, while in the hospital. This is effective from today 24 July 2020. As per an earlier post visitors are limited to one person once a day for one hour except in maternity where it is one person for unlimited hours.

11.01.2022 I am pleased to announce a further easing of visiting restrictions in maternity. Mothers may now not only have their partners present on the ward with no restrictions, but one other person may visit for a maximum of one hour once a day ie. two people at the same time unless the mother is in a shared ward in which case only person at a time is permitted. As per previously, the partner and a second support person may be present at any time in the birthing suite. Thank you, Brett Dennett General Manager
