Last year through your support, the Girl Friday Sleigh was a...ble to deliver over 170 presents to 5 refuges to kids that may have otherwise missed out. This year we again NEED YOUR HELP to honour our commitment of over 150 presents to children in crisis. Many of you will be familiar with the process from previous years, but for any of our new friends wanting to be involved, here is the process. 1. We will put up individual posts for every child. 2. The post will contain the children’s initial, age and gender (eg., ‘K’ , 5 , Girl). 3. The first person to comment ‘Girl Friday Santa’ on each post, will commit to being Santa for that child and buying them an appropriate Christmas gift. NO WRAPPING THIS YEAR - we would like the present delivered in a gift bag. Labeled with the initial, age and gender. 4. Delivery is to be made to one of our drop off points by Monday 30th November 2020. Meeting this deadline is important so that outreach workers can ensure all presents are delivered before Christmas. Please share this post as we are going to need a lot of Girl Friday love to make this happen! We will be posting the children's details on the Tuesday, 17th November during two time slots through the afternoon and then the evening. We would love to have you involved and be part of bringing the Christmas Magic to those in our community who are doing it tough at the moment. The pandemic has thrown up huge challenges and represented a literal life-changer for so many affected by the measures needed to keep the virus at bay. The racing industry has been able to continue ‘trading’ and we consider ourselves exceedingly lucky in the scheme of things. 07.01.2022 The Kris Lees Racing trained five-year-old entire Korcho (Australian Bloodstock) being led to the pool along the new bridle path by Melina Edwards. The construction of the new bridle path allows horses to traverse from the stables to the existing tie-up stalls for their morning exercise or a dip in the pool of an afternoon. The completion of the bridle path is the first stage of our new tie-up stall precinct which will see horses saddled up on race days next to the Trackside Marquee, located at the 250m mark. We expect site works to begin in early October with the opening to occur towards the end of February 2021. Similar to Rosehill or Canterbury, horses will walk past the crowd before parading in the mounting yard which will add a little extra colour and excitement to your race day experience.
