05.01.2022 Covid and the Toy Run A bit of clarification of the current and pending regulations on group gatherings. The limit as of 1/12/2020 will be 50 (Currently 30) people and all social distancing rule still apply. This means in total, not 100 groups of 50, if your gathering attracts more than the current regulations you are in breach. Maximum number in outdoor public spaces remains 500, unless ticketed and electronic check in recorded. This in effect means that the running of the ...Newcastle Toy Run (and many other community events) is not practical or manageable. Individuals and organisers are liable for large fines if these guidelines are exceeded. We will not bend or creatively interpret the rules to get around the issues as that would risk health the future of all events, we can get through this and we will. Multiple drop points for toy donation have been established and online options are available to maintain your contribution to this iconic event, so it’s over to you the supporters to adapt and make it a success for 2020 and a bigger better 2021.
