24.01.2022 Although the choir is currently in recess we are still rehearsing our Haydn and Mozart masses and keeping in contact online. There is no decision on when we will perform these beautiful works, but look out for an announcement about an exciting proposal for a Christmas concert soon.

17.01.2022 Our O Week Expo was a great success with 44 UON students and Uni staff visiting us.

17.01.2022 Despite NSW being virtually Covid-free and the rules being relaxed to allow crowds at pubs, restaurants, weddings, sporting events etc choirs are STILL restricted to 5 people indoors. Since Newcastle University Choir has 120 members we remain in recess until the NSW Govt acknowledges there is no more risk from singing than yelling at a football game or talking loudly at the pub. Please help us by writing to the NSW Premier, Minister for The Arts, Minister for Health and your local member and demanding that the NSW Govt take a serious look at the Covid risk to choirs compared with other indoor gatherings. We desperately want to make music and socialise with our like-minded friends again.

04.01.2022 MAY CONCERT CANCELLED In the light of government recommendations for containment of the COVID-19 virus, the NUC committee has decided to cancel the May concert and suspend rehearsals until further notice. This is a very sad step to take, but we believe it is a responsible one that considers the health of our members, their families and our audiences. We will make decisions about revised concert dates and programs in the near future.
