08.01.2022 A little girl catching raindrops in King Street, the Pasha Bulker, COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement are moments in history that have been captured by a new book. Newcastle duo Greg and Sylvia Ray (Photo Time Tunnel) launched Newcastle by itself this month after curating the collection of photos for most of the year. Greg says the book depicts Newcastle and the Hunter Region’s growth over the last 20 years.... 04.01.2022 Two hundred patients were provided with free beachside skin checks last weekend to help detect melanomas. The checks are part of the Hunter Melanoma Foundation's Spot Check campaign, which is an ongoing effort to help detect and fight melanoma on Newcastle’s beaches over summer. Out of the 200 patients that went under examination, 88 skin cancers were discovered, as well as 11 possible melanomas.
