23.01.2022 NewDirection Care traditionally holds an annual Halloween party for the residents, staff and NDC community for 400 people. This year the show will go on but in a COVID safe environment. First off, the NDC residents and community can enjoy our specially made Halloween video. The spooky 4-1/2 minute short film, performed to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’, was co-created by NDC staff Kerri Barbeler and Adam Farrelly. ... We brainstormed ideas that meant we could still have some fun and allow our residents to get into the spirit of Halloween in spite of COVID, said Adam from NDC. Everyone enjoyed themselves dressing up as gremlins, ghosts and zombies. The residents really got into it in a way we didn’t expect which is great news, said Kerri. There will be a drive through tomorrow for family and friends at 2pm. Showbags and lollies will be handed out by the staff on behalf of the residents. Mums, dads and kids will be able to enjoy the virtual trick or treat in the car drive through. And, residents will watch on safely. There is also a huge spider being erected and the Baby Boomers band will dress in Halloween outfits and sing scary songs for everyone to scream along to. Wishing everyone a Happy Hallowee

22.01.2022 Last week we had some furry 4 legged friends and feathered friends visit our residents at NDC for farmers dress up day. The weather was perfect for it , we had a blast. 22.01.2022 This Thursday passed, we hosted a pink ribbon breakfast for breast cancer awareness, with the help of residents and staff that participated we were able to donate all profits made to the organisation! The breakfast was filled with lots of bacon, eggs, sausages, savory mince on toast and fresh fruit salad! That's enough to put a big smile on anyone's face... as you'll see in the photos it went down as a big hit! Thank you again to everyone who donated and participated. #pinkribbonbreakfast2020

22.01.2022 Well, comedian Tommy Little returned to NewDirection Care with Tommy’s Virtual Tea Time on Friday night on Ch10’s The Project Tommy, who previously interviewed Elise when he visited us at NDC in person in 2018, kicked off the segment by complementing Elise’s hair. ‘That hair is beautiful,’ Tommy said, referring to her fabulous new pink hairdo. Jean got in on the act and so did Louise, who showed us one of her paintings, did a little jig for him and talked about our upcoming ...Halloween party. And Michael not only sang but talked about his boxing prowess. At the end of the segment, TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson described him as ‘cheeky’. Tommy agreed, saying: ‘You don’t expect that singing voice and boxing ability! If you missed out on it, then here’s a link to the show and Tommy’s Tea Time is right at the end. Clearly, they kept the best to last! Thanks also to Tommy Little! See more

10.01.2022 After more than 12months of dealing with the impact of COVID-19 and working hard to ensure the safety of our team, visitors and residents, all residents who had consented and were able to have the vaccination and over 20% of members all received the Pfizer vaccination after a roll out on Tuesday 6th April. It is an immense relief to know that our community is now so much safer. It doesn’t, however, mean that we won’t continue to remain vigilant.
