24.01.2022 Fire Danger Rating for Monday 16th November is VERY HIGH. All permits suspended for 24 hours
21.01.2022 Yesterday the 26th of November, two of our members who are also part of RAFT (remote area firefighting team) were deployed to Casino, they are on standby with a helicopter.
20.01.2022 On Sunday our crew teamed up with NSW RFS Warrell Creek, Gumma Rural Fire Brigade and Talarm RFS in a combined training. The crews focussed on pumping and drafting work using both the trucks and portable pumps. The crew also participated in overrun drills to further their understanding on what to do during that situation. Thank you to all the members that attended and to Warrell Creek RFS for hosting the training.
20.01.2022 On this day last year NSW recorded 17 concurrent Emergency Warnings. Communities in the Blue Mountains, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Walcha, Armidale, Namb...ucca, Kempsey, Tenterfield, and the Mid Coast were all being impacted by fire. At 6pm 94 fires were burning across the state. While the losses on that day were significant they could have been far worse were it not for the extraordinary efforts of firefighters and community members. See more
19.01.2022 Yesterday at 1324 we were paged to a grass fire on balance tank road. Once on scene backburning operations were used to stop the spread and to contain the fire then later assisted by the rain.
16.01.2022 Last night we had group 2 Graeme Adair and the district officer Jamie Laws come and present our premiers citations. Afterwards Jamie ran us through our new ipads and how to work some mapping programs. Not long after training had finished we were called to a structure fire at Gumma where we assisted with supplying water. 12.01.2022 About 8.20pm last night we were paged along with North Macksville Rural Fire Brigade to assist F+R Fire and Rescue NSW Station 397 Nambucca Heads and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 371 Macksville at a bush fire on Bellwood road. Crews did a backburn to contain the fire.
11.01.2022 Today our crew teamed up with Argents Hill RFS Brigade to help assist with their new members while demonstrating pump work, drafting, working hoses and fire over runs.
