24.01.2022 We've followed Penny as she's come to us for a year now. Penny was initially very fearful and would spin when overwhelmed. Her owner has put time, effort and understanding into Penny and with a great combo of medication Penny no longer spins, approaches people and allows touch. This meant Penny got her first thorough physical exam without stress.... What wonderful progress and dedication from team Penny! She has reached most of her goals and now we're just tweaking the last boxes to tick. We're all thrilled as where Penny is now seemed so far away when we first saw her. And she's so gorgeous

22.01.2022 Little Billy here spent some time in hospital after eating Rhododendron. Rhododendron is very toxic to ruminants and they only need to eat a small amount to get very sick. One of the defining features of this toxicity is that it causes vomiting, which is something ruminants don't usually do. It also causes extreme gut pain. Luckily Billy has recovered with supportive care, and pain relief and lives to bleat another day. Many common garden plants are toxic to varying degrees such as rhododendron, oleander, yew and foxglove to name a few.

04.01.2022 Dental health is important in all species! Did you know ferrets also get dental disease? This little guy was in for a scale and polish today and was not only entertaining and endearing, but left with a sparkly smile

03.01.2022 Hands down best consult of the day goes to Barney. Barney has had issues with handling that have made vet visits difficult. Last visit counter conditioning to common touches received at the clinic and utilising cooperative care would be a way forward. Fast forward to today, and look at Barney! Previously he would react and mouth hard if touched this way. Today we got his vaccination done stress free!!... I'm so proud of his owners and their dedication to Barney and teaching him that the things he fears are ok through positive association. If Barney broke his sit at any stage the touch was stopped so that he has choice to cooperate. This gives Barney control, and makes him feel better about being handled. A million gold stars to team Barney!!

01.01.2022 Was a hard morning at work....
