24.01.2022 To get New Farm parkrun going again on 28 November we need volunteers and so far the response has been good. One of the conditions for the event to go ahead is that we need to have about one barcode scanner for every 50 runners; for New Farm parkrun with an average attendance of 400 runners, this would require 8 barcode scanners per event. This is over and above marshals and other volunteers. Barcode scanning is ideal for those runners finishing in the top 50-100: you can run and then do barcode scanning afterwards- it's hard beat this two for one deal! Please help us fill the volunteer roster for 28 Nov. and beyond by contacting us at [email protected]

22.01.2022 Wow another fantastic turn out today, 168 park runners enjoyed our Boxing Day Parkrun. Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the New Farm parkrun Results Page. A big shout out to our awesome Volunteers, without them, we could not provide such an amazing event. Please consider adding your name to the volunteer roster for next week there’s a few opportunities. The results and photos will be available soon. Have a great weekend and see you next wee...k for our next event! #loveparkrun Please monitor the NewFarm parkrun homepage as we will be updating.

16.01.2022 By now most people would have heard that we have permission to start New Farm parkrun again on 28 November 2020 at 7am, so it is eventually time to get off the couch. The Queensland government has allowed us to hold this event every Saturday if we comply with the parkrun COVID-19 framework. This requirement will be shared over the next few weeks leading up to the 28 Nov. So please look at the NF parkrun Facebook site regularly and let your running mates know as well.

16.01.2022 Please view this video as it gives important details as to What needs to be done at the finish line and scanning of token. Social distancing is again required at the area around the finish. If anybody has any question, please reply to this post or send an email to [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can... Nor long now; see you all on Saturday.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone - we had a credit card handed in at the volunteer desk today (15/05/21). If you've lost one, please privately message us and we will see if it's yours. Thanks!

11.01.2022 Please read this wordy post. We are almost ready for tomorrow's event; a special thanks to everybody that volunteered to make New Farm parkrun possible. As you can see from previous posts on Facebook there have been some changes required to comply with COVID-19 requirements, so please arrive early, there might be some confusion as we adapt to these changes. To reemphasise some of the main requirements -volunteers and runners please familiarise yourselves with what is requir...ed. -all runners and volunteers to scan the Q-Code and complete the details required for tracing purposes. -Social distancing is required at the start and end of the event. -hold your barcode and the run token for scanning and then drop in the buckets. It is very important that all the COVID-19 and run safety requirements are followed to ensure that the public's perception of New Farm parkrun remains positive. Have a fantastic run tomorrow.

10.01.2022 Did you sleep in this morning? Now that our parks are no longer off limits and winter is about to start, it’s a great time to get out in the sunshine and try out this simple workout. Don’t forget your physical distancing though!

09.01.2022 Are you missing parkrun as much as we are? Check out these suggestions to keep your parkrun spirit burning, and send us your photos tomorrow when you try them out!

06.01.2022 Here’s the latest coronavirus update from parkun Global’s Chief Operating Officer, Tom Williams.

05.01.2022 All runners and volunteers are required to scan the Q-Code and complete the details required for tracing purposes. These codes will be displayed around the start and entrance to the park. We realise that not everybody brings their mobile phone to the event so you can scan the barcode before or after the event. The Q-Code to use is shown.

04.01.2022 Looking at all the smiling faces this morning and a field of 444 parkrunners it is obvious that everybody is happy that New Farm park run has started again. For everybody that took part, thank you for your patience and adhering to the COVID-19 requirements; this shows that we are easily able to hold future events without any major concerns. Also, a special thank you to all our volunteers, who make New Farm parkrun possible. See you all again next week.

04.01.2022 We would like to say a big Thanks to the people who volunteered this weekend. Unfortunately we still have positions not yet filled. This puts our parkrun and NewFarm community at risk. As a responsible group we want to ensure all safety matters are in place. A decision will be made at noon tommorow to go ahead with Saturday event. See the roster link for volunteer roles https://www.parkrun.com.au/newfarm/futureroster/
