25.01.2022 Who are New Generations? The Rotary Club of Scarborough's New Generations Committee the first in Australia is a new generation of Rotarians adopting newer ways of working and thinking. Comprising a mix of young professionals within the 25 to 40 year-old age bracket, this group operates flexibly to meet the needs of its members, and attracts female and males equally. New Generations meets once a month in a convenient CBD location, to discuss projects, funding, events an...d other activities. The evening schedule is designed so that meetings can be held straight after work, and people from the wider Perth area (rather than just Scarborough) can take part. The group is social; enjoying regular drinks at a bar, whilst getting to work to support projects addressing the important needs of youth, vulnerable people and communities abroad. They also regularly volunteer to support the operation of the Karrinyup SwapMart, and arrange other fundraising activities whist maintaining strong links with the remainder of the Club. Some of the organisations New Generations has supported since its inception in 2015 are Dress for Success Perth, Orange Sky Australia, True Blue Dreaming, Manna Inc, Indigenous Reading Project, Zonta House Refuge Association Inc, The Trailblazer Foundation, World Concerns water filtration project in Myanmar and much more! Come and meet the New Generations team at their first film fundraiser on 7 June!

15.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Scarborough's New Generations Committee is very pleased to support Perth Inner City Youth Service (PICYS) - an excellent organisation that for 37 years has provided strong support for young people in Perth with mental health issues. New Generations Director Chris Schooling said $1,500 provided to PICYS would sustain their food pantry for almost four months, enabling young people to have access to free basic groceries. New Generations recognises this support... as a fantastic way to end the 2016-2017 Rotary year, aligning closely with the outgoing Rotary theme 'Rotary Serving Humanity'. 13.01.2022 The Rotary Club of Scarborough's New Generations committee is proud to support World Concern with a significant international development project in Bago, Myanmar. World Concern's Building Resilient Community project in Bago addresses root causes threatening community strength and improves the ability of individuals, households, and communities to withstand, adapt and to quickly recover from stress and shocks. New Generations Director Chris Schooling said the AU$4,850 funding... will contribute to the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) component of the Building Resilient Community project, specifically to rehabilitate drinking water storage ponds (pictured).
