25.01.2022 Having heard about other Community Letter Writing Projects, Year 11 student Bella McCulloch sought to implement a similar scheme at the College. A number of Year 10/11 students wrote letters and sent them to Banfields Aged Care residents. It was wonderful to see our students genuinely wanting to do something positive for others in the community. Well done to all involved!

15.01.2022 October is Dyslexia awareness month. Yesterday staff and students at the College wore red in support of the Light it Red for Dyslexia Awareness campaign.

14.01.2022 Recently the College introduced a new four bin system as an efficient and sustainable means of managing the schools waste. Organic bin waste will be used in the College worm farms as approximately 80% of the school’s waste is organic matter. Keeping the waste onsite for composting will significantly reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.

13.01.2022 We're always excited to receive updates from our Alumni and hear about all the exciting things they have done since graduating from Newhaven College. Recently Darcy Bee completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of International Relations at ANU. Darcy is currently working as Media Advisor at the Israeli Embassy and hopes to use his new qualifications within the political field. Congratulations Darcy!

12.01.2022 Twenty Year 7/8 students were selected to participate in the 2020 Australian Maths Trust (AMT) Maths Challenge. Several students excelled throughout the program receiving credits and distinctions. Our 2020 Academic Captain, Shae White was eager to congratulate the students when they received their certificates during assembly.

11.01.2022 Wardy’s Christmas Tree is a proud Newhaven College giving tradition that has been running for 21 years. This year has been difficult for our community and we hope to bring joy to those in need this Christmas. All gifts will be delivered to the Wonthaggi Salvation Army and benefit local families. If you would like to donate, please drop into Newhaven College with new, unwrapped items for children, teenagers and adults of all ages to place under Wardy’s tree. ...
