The project will deliver a new recreational facility and much more, including: A full size synthetic grass football (soccer) field... 13.01.2022 I would like to preface this post by saying that ultimately the score would have been the same. Greystanes FC 35s are a class above. That said, we played 2 games this year at Bathurst St Field 1, and both times the field has been beautiful but the goal mouths, especially the Northern one are grossly unsafe. Earlier this year I questioned the referee and was told that the swamp, was deemed adequate and although we were visitors, we were deemed as the Home team and therefore ...it was our responsibility to call the game on or off. Today, we were once again greeted with a mud patch at both ends. The Northern End was diabolical and grossly unsafe. A keeper should be able to focus on where the ball is going and not where to safely place their feet so they don’t wrench their knee. Our goal keeper will now have to see how he pulls up after twisting his knee in the mud before deciding whether scans or treatment is necessary. Granville & Districts Soccer Football Association the injury was reported to the referee post match. We just want to highlight that when deeming a field adequate for play it does need to include the goals mouths. See more

If you have any problems there are some helpful tips on this part of the Football NSW website https://www.playfootball.com.au/register It is important that we get organised as early as possible in 2020. All players need to be register no later than 20 February 2020. We need to let the association know how many teams we will be entering into competitions in the 3rd week of February 2020 and so if you are not registered by 20 FEBRUARY 2020 it is possible that we will not be able to fit you or your child into a team. 04.01.2022 HELP NEWINGTON GUNNERS SECURE ITS FUTURE A decision has been made to hand the Newington Gunners home ground of 15 years to Cricket NSW for their centre of excellence. Leaving the Newington Gunners with a future of ground sharing with other clubs and potential use of a much smaller ground for our club. Cricket NSW have lodged an application to get the planning approval they need to build their new facility at Wilson Park.... This is our chance to influence a formal government decision making process and have some decisions made that would greatly benefit the club. Our submission requests 3 key actions as follows:- 1. It requests that further consultation be undertaken with the club and residents of Newington more broadly. 2. It requests that the club be given access to train on one weeknight and play some games on Saturday mornings at the new facility once it is built during the cricket off season. 3. It requests that Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) be required to deliver the new sporting fields they said would be delivered when their Masterplan was approved to allow all the new tall buildings to be built in Sydney Olympic Park The loss of sporting fields affects residents in Newington, Sydney Olympic Park, Wentworth Point and Carter Street.
