We’d say that this is exactly where we want to be...a practice that is growing continuously, with a dedicated team of amazing dentists, dental assistants and admin staff, and a great support network who help us deliver the best service we can possibly provide to our loyal patients. ... We would have said back then that our mission and our values will remain the same while we also strive to improve ourselves through the years. We hit the ground running when we opened after the holidays that we didn’t have much time to sit around and ponder on things (so our socials have been very quiet.) It was so busy, hectic, dynamic and exciting to start the new year buzzing like this following the year that was. Yes, let’s move on from 2020! ... As we move forward, we’re thrilled to announce that Shereen, who many of you already know and love, is now our new Practice Manager! Shereen comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in dental assisting, practice administration and practice management from her previous roles. Go, Shereen!!! Did You Know?: That Shereen was our very first employee back in 2015? We started interviewing for our staff while the surgery was being constructed, literally with nothing in it except for building materials and dust. Shereen believed in the vision we had for a baby dental surgery we were building from the ground up and joined our team. Life sometimes changes course so she was not at New Leaf for a while, but came back in 2019. 20.01.2022 ONE-DAY CROWNS at @newleafdentists By utilising digital dentistry, a new crown can be prepared and provided to our patients on the same day. In a nutshell:... Step 1: Scan the patient’s prepared tooth using an intraoral scanner. Step 2: Design the new crown using CAD technology. Step 3: Mill the crown in the milling machine. Step 4: Bake it over a temp of 1300-1400 degrees celcius in our special furnace. Step 5: Let it cool and then glaze with the appropriate shade that matches the patient’s original tooth. Step 6: Cementation of new crown. All personally done in-house by your New Leaf Dentist. Pretty cool, isn’t it? If you’d like to know more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch! She was so brave that she didn’t even want her dad to sit in the surgery with her. She specifically told her dad to wait for her in the waiting room! All I can say is... Tiana, you are the best patient ever! I’m so proud of how brave you were today. Please tell all your friends (and their parent...s!) that there really is no big reason to be scared of the dentist. 13.01.2022 Christmas Party 2020 with the Saturday team!!! There is a lot to be celebrated considering the tough year we have all had worldwide. One of them is this wonderful New Leaf team and the friendships formed within. This Christmas dinner is missing half the NLD family due to prior commitments (we didn’t set a date early enough due to all the varying COVID restrictions the past few months), but this intimate dinner was still just as enjoyable, as stories, anecdotes and chil...dhood memories were shared over a delicious meal and lots of drinks! Then we realised this table is filled with our Saturday crew, the ones who get up early on the weekend so that we can be available to our patients who need treatments on a Saturday.
