14.02.2022 Wishing all who celebrate the occasion a Blessed Lunar New Year! May you have wonderful moments with friends and family as you celebrate.

25.01.2022 This year, we embarked on a journey with an overall theme to READ, HEAR & OBEY. As we enter the months of September, October and November, we explore the last part of the theme; to OBEY. We launch this new series on the first weekend of September with John 14:15 that the expression of our response in loving Jesus is to keep His commands. Obedience to his commandments and teachings remains a central and key theme for the church. This introduction will be a precursor to the most famous and important teachings of Jesus, the Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew chapters 5 through to 7. Over the next three months, we pray that this series will empower you towards a changed life, living out acts of obedience as we engage with our families, community, as well as the world which God has called us to impact.

25.01.2022 This year we're looking forward to creating space for authentic relationships and spiritual growth. We’re starting with our in-house series "Discover your S.H.A.P.E" where we'll gather and enjoy a time of teaching as we discover God’s plan and purpose for each of us. We are all uniquely shaped by God for His purpose. There is no one in the universe like you and that is not an accident. Discovering who you are and why God made you the way you are will help you in your job or c...areer, bring focus to your life, make big decisions, share the love of God with others and most importantly, bring glory to God! This series will be running Friday Nights at 7:30pm over 19th & 26th February, and 5th & 12th March. You're also welcome to join our SHAPE series online - head over to the following zoom link starting 19th February. https://zoom.us/j/91493746626

24.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 22 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%2022... 1. There may be no easy way to relate to this unique and supreme test of faith. Context is critical as Abraham’s personal faith has been built up over decades of his superlative experiences with God and the unrivalled intimacy. What may we learn from: Abraham’s confidence, Isaac’s submission, or God’s reward? 2. Does this complex chapter confront us or, like Abraham and Isaac, lead us to... trust JEHOVAH JIREH, GOD our Provider more? 23.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 29 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. The story of Jacob and Rachel is one of the great love stories in the Bible. Yet, why do you think God allowed Jacob to be tricked into 14 years of labour for (Leah and) Rachel? What purposes do you think God will work out through these circumstances? 2. The Lord demonstrates compassion towards Leah who is the unloved, unattractive older sister whom Jacob must be tricked into marrying. Among her first 4 sons will rise the tribes of Levi and Judah. What are all their names and what do they mean? What can we learn about Leah from these?

22.01.2022 Come along to church on the 2nd April for our Good Friday Service: Journey to the Cross - a worship response to the immense love of God as we trace Jesus' footsteps from the garden to the cross. Join us as we worship together and experience His journey through video and scripture, pausing to remember all He has done on the cross of Calvary for each of us as we partake of the Holy Communion. Service will start at 11am, and will also be streamed online.

21.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 25 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. Abraham, the great Hebrew patriarch, dies at 175 years and is buried with Sarah. Pause to reflect on this legendary life. What truths have we learnt? 2. The divine insight into Rebekah’s pregnancy is lived out in the perfect storm of Jacob’s opportunism and Esau’s carelessness. When it has been recorded that God loved Jacob but hated Esau, what can we learn about God from this?

20.01.2022 Hey NLCC Family, Our favourite day of the week is coming up! This weekend we will gather for church both in-person and online! 20.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 27 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. Was Isaac trying to overturn God’s revealed will by blessing his favoured son, Esau? Even if so, could that in any way justify the sophisticated deception engineered by Rebekah and her favoured son, Jacob? Although they each act in their own self-interest, we see God’s sovereign will working His plan through each one, even the poor choices. Have you seen likewise in your own life? 2. Families can deteriorate, even with the most promising beginnings, like with the marriage of Isaac and Rebekah. What are the Godly values, principles and practices which nurture and protect households?

19.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 23 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. Sarah stayed her course, and has been accorded the honour of being the only lady whose passing, at 127 years, is biblically recorded . Which women do you know have held a long obedience in the same direction of Godly faith? What can we learn from them? Let us honour them; love them. 2. Sarah’s death provides the impetus for Abraham’s only recorded land acquisition in Canaan, at the Cave of Machpelah, near Hebron. Even in mourning, Abraham demonstrates foresight and business acumen. Can we remember similar self-control, or regretfully used our emotions as an excuse for poor judgment? See more

16.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 26 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. When famine strikes, Isaac's faith and obedience to God illustrates his heritage of faith. Then he masks his relationship with Rebekah and again he is his father’s son. What have we inherited from our parents, both exemplary and cautionary? Thank God that He is our ever-loving Father and perfect role model. 2. Throughout Isaac’s dealings with Abimelech, and despite his shortcomings, Isaac prospers and thrives under God’s anointing and favour. Do you recognise when the Lord has blessed you, and is it apparent to family, friends or colleagues that the Lord is with you? See more

16.01.2022 Today’s Reading Genesis 18 1. Abraham’s excitement and hospitality is marred by Sarah’s disbelief. Picture this occasion and listen to the dialogue between all present, and in particular between Abram and God. What can we learn from the scene of this elderly couple?... 2. Do you sense the urgency as Abraham carefully pleads with EL SHAPHAT, The Judge on behalf of Sodom? This intercession challenges us to humbly and earnestly seek His audience and His ear for His mercy. Of course, for those whom we love and cry for, but perhaps also to sense what breaks God’s heart? https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/

16.01.2022 Invite a friend and join us for an exciting encounter in worship. Let's set aside time from our everyday rush to connect with God and allow Him to prepare us for greater things. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12... Come expectant!

14.01.2022 Hi NLCC Family, In light of the WA State Government's latest announcement regarding Perth's 3 day lockdown, there will be no physical gathering in church this weekend. However, as always, our ONLINE church service for Sunday 25th April 2021 will be streamed. We look forward to the final instalment of our Apologetics series with Elder Evan Wong. Our faith is more relevant than ever! We encourage you to join us through YouTube at 11am AWST (GMT+8).... Thank you for helping us do our part to keep our community protected. 12.01.2022 Today’s Reading Genesis 20 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. Abraham's repetition of his pattern of lies and deception confounds us, but perhaps we might concede that maybe, sometimes, that’s us, too. Pray for humility and watchfulness against weak old instincts and habits. May we bear fruit in keeping with repentance. 2. God intervenes to warn Abimelech and in the end Abimelech’s unanticipated generosity and compensation are reciprocated by a restoration of his own household. Shame on Abraham, that Abimelech proves to be the better man in this fiasco. Pray that God would refine us that we may be a witness for the Kingdom of God.

12.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 30 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. The hostility and trauma reflected in Leah’s fight to be loved and Rachel’s fight against her infertility is honest and excruciatingly detailed. Have you experienced or witnessed relatives in perpetual strife? We pray for God’s peace wherever it may be sought. Trace the order, names and meanings of Jacob’s many sons and one daughter who are borne through this volatile love triangle. 2. As Jacob resolves to return to his homeland, his negotiations with Laban reflect their fundamentally different worldviews. The technical aspects of the animal husbandry and breeding may elude urban readers. Rather, we can emulate Jacob’s ethos or witness even before non-believing superiors and in challenging settings. Would others say of us the Lord has blessed you? Are we able to claim my honesty will testify for me in the future..?

12.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 21 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. There is sheer jubilation as Isaac is finally born. Where Sarah had laughed in doubt, now she laughs in faith and joy. Miracles boast the unexpected unmistakeable grace and power of God, refuting any possibility of coincidence or good luck. As Sarah anticipates, do we also laugh in amazement? 2. Once again, Hagar, this time with Ishmael, suffers at the hands of Abraham and Sarah. Once again, God intervenes. What can we learn, not as much from our imperfect heroes, but of God’s perfect character and love? 3. Abraham enters a covenant, digs a well, plants a tree at Beersheba and calls on the name of EL OLAM, the Lord, the Eternal One. The nomad takes a step towards settledness in the Promised Land. Do you remember any specific step you have taken in your journey of faith? If it has it been too long ago, humbly ask God for a freshness of spirit.

Invite your friends and family this Easter Sunday to our service titled News Flash: Jesus Is Alive! - an investigative experience exploring news of Jesus' appearance in the community. They watched him die... They thought it was the end But the best was yet to come! Three days later Jesus' followers heard the good news: " He is not here. He is risen". Two thousand years later; those words still bring hope and joy. Through the cross and resurrection, we can come to Jesus and freely receive His Love and Saving Grace - what great news to spread! Our service will begin at 11am, and will be streamed online for anyone and everyone. Then join us as we enjoy each other’s company over a community lunch after the service.

08.01.2022 Hey Everyone! There is a power outage in our church vicinity, and it’s unlikely we will have power for the church services this morning. However we are still gathering together! There will be a shorter acoustic worship and communion service. Come expectant towards God!

07.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 24 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. As Abraham arranges for the choice of spouse for Isaac, who is the heir of the promise, questions of faith and values may prevail over culture, race or status. For life’s most profound partnerships, what is valuable to you? Whom would you trust for counsel? 2. Enjoy this narrative leading from the chief servant’s commissioning, sensibilities and unique methods, all the way to the marriage of Isaac and Rebekah. What qualities about Rebekah made her stand out?

06.01.2022 The Holy Spirit is the source of our spiritual blessing, the administrator and executive officer of our triune God. So why do we so often neglect the power and presence of the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives? With fresh insights, this sermon series reveals how the church has too often ignored the Spirit's influence and what we must do to get back to our spiritual roots. We will discover more about the Person of The Holy Spirit, the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives as believers.

05.01.2022 Join us this Mother’s Day 9th May for our special combined service What Women Want at 11am see you there!

03.01.2022 Today's Reading Genesis 28 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. As Jacob leaves home, he receives his father’s full blessing with full intent. What can we learn from Jacob’s desire for his father’s blessing, and God’s blessing by extension? Is Esau’s reaction of marriage to an Ishmaelite a case of too little, too late? 2. Enroute to his uncle in Haran, this magnificent dream is Jacob’s first experience of hearing directly from God. It is a defining moment as his own journey of faith and personal relationship with God begins. What does God promise Jacob? How does Jacob respond to this vision?

01.01.2022 Today’s Reading Genesis 19 https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/... 1. The heated episode before Lot flees Sodom illustrates the rampant evil and depravity which characterise Sodom and Gomorrah. Their catastrophic destruction is cautionary. What does these actions teach us about God? Remember Lot’s wife. 2. Lot had shamelessly offered his daughters to the mob in Sodom. Ironically, he eventually falls prey to his daughters’ amoral solution to their dilemma. Pray for families that have imploded through sin. Pray for the abusers and the victims. How may God use us to be part of the answer?

28.12.2021 Thank God for an awesome Camp Super Hero 2022 with a total of 32 children, 16 of which were guest to NLCC! Some pics from Day 1.
