25.01.2022 Today Mike preached an amazing message on Hunger vs. Apathy. He asked, ‘what does it look like for our hunger to be stronger than our apathy?’ Throughout the bible whenever the people of God were facing a crisis, a time of uncertainty, needed to repent strongly, or were faced with the revelation of the depth of their own apathy they would stoke their hunger by engaging in the ancient discipline of prayer and fasting. When we hear the wo...rd fasting this can often be a little uncomfortable for us. Mainly because we don’t fully understand it’s importance, place and reason. However, we believe the church, like never before is being called to develop, through fasting, a spiritual hunger for the hand and move of God. So, with this belief, this coming Wednesday, we’d love you to prayerfully join us as a family as we fast. We want to ask you seriously consider stepping back from a meal, or something in your life which would give you space to step into God. On the day we are going to have 3 corporate (zoom) prayer meetings. At 7am, 12pm and 7pm we are going to spend time praying into three themes: Revival prayer for individual an corporate revival of our relationships with God, deeper intimacy. Renewal God would renew, refresh and heal our nation and world. Redemption- we are going to pray for those who don’t know Jesus and for our Alpha series happening across our locations. We’ll have more info for you in the next few days on how to join us for prayer. We’re so excited and expectant for all God is going to do as we seek after Him as a community. See more

24.01.2022 We love that through Newlife Care we get to be Gold Coast people helping Gold Coast people in need! A few weeks ago we were contacted by one of the police officers working with people and families going into mandatory hotel quarantine with the ask to provide toys for the children of families undertaking their quarantine. Did you know that right now, there are over are over 700 people, including over 80 children, in quarantine on the Gold Coast? They are no...t allowed to leave their rooms for any reason, which is a challenge for anyone, let alone small children who have nothing with them but a suitcase of clothing. Newlife, we would love to ask you to consider donating new toys as a way for us as a church family to care for those in such a difficult situation. We're looking for new inside-play toys like lego, puzzles, books, dolls and action figures, matchbox cars, craft kits etc. If you are able to help, you can drop off these donations to Newlife Gold Coast Reception during the week. Thank you, as always, for being the incredibly generous people you are and helping us see more people more like Jesus! See more

23.01.2022 We love hearing all of the incredible stories of how #kidzlifeonline has been a blessing to our kidz in this season! It’s practical, fun and engaging and we’re so blessed to have an amazing team of leaders here on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane seeking to see more kidz more like Jesus! Miss Jess’s lesson from this weeks episode (on our YouTube channel if you missed it!) is a great reminder to share our faith - do you know a family who’d love Kidzlife Online? Why not see if they’ll join you this week for church at home?
22.01.2022 We are delighted to share that last night at a meeting of the congregation the decision was made by members present to issue a call to Pastor Michael Hands to serve in the role of Lead Minister for Newlife Church, effective from November 1, 2020. Praise God! Mike has been a member of the Newlife ministry team for eight years. He currently serves as Associate Pastor and Pastor to Newlife Brisbane, which he leads with his wife Sarah. Mike and Sarah are blessed with a beautiful ...boy, Archer. Mike succeeds Rev. Stu Cameron, who has served Newlife as Lead Minister for almost 15 years. Earlier this year Stu shared with the congregation that he had accepted a call to take up the role of Superintendent Minister/CEO for Wesley Mission, based in Sydney. Stu and Sue will celebrate their last Sunday at Newlife on October 25, straight after which they will relocate. A letter from the chair of Elders containing more information about the decision and the process leading to it, including messages from Mike and Stu, has today been sent to all who subscribe to our email. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we invite all of our Newlife family, and all who love and support our family of churches to continue to pray in this season of transition. Pray for Mike and Sarah and Archer as Mike transitions into his new role for God’s wisdom and strength. Pray for Stu and Sue as they complete their time serving Newlife and step into a new adventure for God’s peace and strength. Pray for Newlife that, with God’s help, we would continue to pursue Jesus and our vision to see more people, more like Him. To God be the glory! _________ If you're subscribed to our enewsletter, in your inbox is a letter from Rick, our Chair of Elders, Stu and Michael.

21.01.2022 Our new series at Newlife seeks to ask the question: What is essential to our faith that our faith might be essential to the world? We're really excited about all that God has in store for us in the coming weeks. We will be using a new book ‘The Beautiful Resistance: Joyful conviction in a time of cultural compromise’ from Ps. Jon Tyson. Jon is an Australian pastor living in the heart of Manhattan, New York he writes a challenging encouragement to the Church around the things that are ‘essential’ to our faith in a time when the world needs the truth and beauty of the gospel more than ever. The ebook is out (the physical book is releasing in September) and we would love to encourage you to read it alongside our sermon series starting tomorrow!

19.01.2022 Have you thought recently about visiting a local church near you? Wondering what to expect? We would love to invite you to one of our services on Sunday from 8am, 10am & 6pm at 4 Greenwich Court, Robina or 4pm at Albert St, Brisbane. Mike Hands shares on what to expect at Newlife Church. ... We are an evangelical Christian community with multiple locations on the Gold Coast and Brisbane. We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives and we are His hands and feet in the world. Our church has a healthy respect for our rich tradition, and is also actively seeking to engage a new generation with the transforming message of Jesus Christ. We are a vibrant worshipping community with growing ministries that engage children, youth, young adults and families of every generation. Our vision is to see more people, more like Jesus! Join us this Sunday: www.church.nu
18.01.2022 We are so excited to confirm that we will be resuming physical gatherings this Sunday across all our locations! Going forward, our service times are: Newlife Gold Coast --... 8am. 10am. 4pm. 6pm. Newlife Online -- 8am. 10am. Due to government restrictions, all of our services across the life of our family will only have a certain number of available seats. This will mean that pre-registration will be vital to attend on Sundays. Gathering together is going to look different, but the mission stays the same; more people more like Jesus. To attend on physically on Sundays, you must take the time to register your whole family when the link goes live. Part of this registration will be a declaration around COVID19 and your health. This is crucial to ensure we continue to be a healthy and safe community. Each week on Wednesdays, the registration link will go live, released to you via an email sent to your inbox. Now's the time to join our email list if you haven't - the link is in our bio! We'll have more info for you over the next few days, so check back here and check your inbox. Again, we absolutely cannot wait to gather with you in person once again, Newlife!! See more
18.01.2022 Stu and Sue Cameron conclude their 15 year season serving Newlife on Sunday October 25. Many of you have been asking about Stu’s new role. We encourage you to read it, as well as continue to pray for Stu and Sue in their transition. https://church.nu/more-about-stus-new-role/

18.01.2022 Charles Bean landed with the Australian troops on Gallipoli on April 25, 1915. He stayed with them at the front through the entire war, refusing evacuation when he was wounded. At Pozieres the following year he was witness to 23,000 Australian casualties in just six weeks. A dying Australian asked him, Will they remember me in Australia?". Today, we pay tribute to the men and women who have served and are still serving in our defence forces and remember those who have died or suffered in conflicts, wars and peacekeeping operations. #WeRememberThem
18.01.2022 We have no physical services on Sunday 10th January, however you can watch our online service at 10am & 6pm: https://live.church.nu/ Due to the Covid19 Situation and lockdown in greater Brisbane we are unable to run our services at Gold Coast and Coolangatta. At Newlife, many of our staff and volunteers have visited or worked in Brisbane over the last week, we want to ensure the safety of our people and follow health guidelines. However, we will still be having our services s...treamed online at 10am and 6pm via www.church.nu/live. P.S. Michael is continuing our ‘Rhythms’ series with a message that has been on his heart for our entire family (there is a karate kid reference for all those 80’s fans!). We really hope you can join us online tomorrow for our services. We will decide about services next weekend when we know more information in the coming week. Much Love Newlife!

13.01.2022 So often our disappointment towards God comes from us putting our hope and expectation on things that He didn’t actually promise. But how do we learn to know what He did promise? Pastor Mike opened our new series, The Expectation Gap, last Sunday and reminded us that we can have confidence in every promise God has made throughout the Bible, because His track record is faithfulness at every single step. We can take comfort in Jesus’ promise I will build my church ...because He loves the church more than we do, He’s grieved by her more than we are, and because He has more faith and hope in the future of the church than we do! We pray that these few notes would prompt some helpful reflection as we dwell on God's promise to build His church. If you missed Sunday's message, our podcast is available on both our website, and on the Newlife app! See more

06.01.2022 This Morning, August 22, the Queensland Government released new insights into the state of COVID-19 in Queensland, with new cases arising overnight. These new cases have brought in new restrictions across our state (active immediately), as we continue to try and ensure we limit the spread of this virus among our communities. In light of these restrictions and new information, we, as a Newlife Family ministry team, believe it is the wisest decision to cancel all Sunday Service...s scheduled for August 23, 2020. For many of us, this will be a disappointment, as we anticipated the joy of gathering physically together again. However, due to the information we now know on worship-centres and large gatherings, we believe this is a way we not only serve and lead our people, but the wider community as well. We will continue to gather at 8am and 10am online but will also add 4pm and 6pm online gatherings as well. In this time, may we not just think ‘is this what is best for me?’ but also, ‘what is best for our community?’. Remember, the Church is the only organisation that exists for its non-members. What a powerful way for us to live this out right now. Nothing changes, just the ‘how’ behind the ‘what’ of our Sundays. Our ‘why’ still stays the same. We are passionate about seeing more people more like Jesus. We will aim to provide you with more information around upcoming weekend gatherings this week.

03.01.2022 A Greeting from Stu Cameron (Lead Minister): After a wonderful six week break, this Sunday I’ll be preaching at Newlife again, both to our online community across our family, and our in-person gatherings on the Gold Coast. With Scott (Cooly) and Michael (Brisbane) I’ll be kicking off a new six week series - The Kingdom - drawn from the Gospel of Mark. These will be my last six weeks as Lead Minister at Newlife as Sue and I prepare for our move to Sydney in late October. Fran...kly, after almost 15 years on the Gold Coast, that last sentence feels surreal. Such is the call of God at times. In this season of transition I read some last words of one of the giants of evangelicalism, JI Packer, who died a little while ago. Asked if he had last words for the global church, which he had served faithfully for decades, his response was simple and profound, ‘Glorify Christ every way.’ As this particular finish line draws near, that’s what I want to do. More than all else, in my faltering and fallible ways, I want to lift up, honour, rejoice in, glorify - preach Jesus over the next six weeks. Newlife friends, now more than ever, lets do that together. This will always be our primary calling.
03.01.2022 Smiling like Liv and Lucy as we head into the weekend We can’t wait to worship with you this weekend church! Tim Hanna is preaching right across our Sunday services - see you online at 10am at church.nu/live!
