12.01.2022 When Keith's daughter, Tamara, reached out on a local classifieds site asking for help for her beautiful Dad, we knew we had to help. Keith lost the love of his life 3 months ago, and then 2 weeks ago fractured his pelvis in a fall. Keith is a very proud man and devoted his life to helping others. Asking for help is not in his vocabulary. Tamara knows how much independant living means to her dad, and set about making his home as safe as possible. Upon inspection, we found tha...t the handrail for the stairs were extremely wobbly and unsafe. Some stair treads and the landing were rotted out. The front balcony had missing rails, some rotted and some tied togther with thin rope. Cameron made a few phone calls and within a couple of hours it was sorted. A few amazing, small local businesses rallied around and done what they could to help. It was a huge (and hot) day with all hands on deck. Even the kids were out painting, sanding and doing what needed to be done. There were plenty of sausages on bread, iceblocks and ice cold beers to go around! We would like to send a huge thank you to Dan and the boys at Dan gauld constructions for giving up their Saturday to do what needed to be done. Kiera at Foxx Beauty Cosmetic Tattoo/Beauty Bar for making a donation for materials and Mitre 10 Rockhampton for providing a discount on the materials needed. We have learnt first hand the profound effects that random acts of kindness have on a person and this was our way of "paying it foward". If you ever get the chance to change someone life, do it! It costs nothing to be kind.
