25.01.2022 We celebrated our Xmas this year with a Pizza Night at our Social Director (Lindsey Loney's) home on Sunday 15 December 2013. Lindsey has a lovely outdoor area set up with big round tables and chairs for everyone, so what did we do, grabbed the chairs and moved out onto her back lawn area under a big gum tree. Lindsey has an outdoor pizza oven, and everyone bought pizza's to cook. Thanks to our 3 Amigo's, consisting of President (Gavin Begbie), Registrar (Frank Maloney) and Treasurer (Geoff Miller) we were constantly kept fed with all the different varieties of pizza offered. Denise Davis brought along her Xmas pizza, made with Cranberry sauce as a base, turkey and camembert cheese. Bloody lovely!

25.01.2022 We had our Annual Club Dinner on Saturday Night 15 August 2015 with approx 20 members attending. Everyone makes a soup, main or dessert and we share the lot with lots of bubbly, wine and beer to wash it all down. Thanks everyone that came and made it such an enjoyable night. Club member, Rob Armstrong did take a few pics on his mobile, so I am publishing them here for you all. Next social will be end September with a casserole night.

14.01.2022 Our summer training starts again Monday 14 October 2019. The pool is heated, so we get a much longer swimming season in our beautiful pool set in a big grassed area and clubroom. If you want to get back into swimming for fun and fitness, we would like to see come on down and give it a go. Our oldest swimmer is aged 80+ years. So don't think we are all swim competitors, we just enjoy getting a bit of exercise and a few laughs. Our social committee runs a number of social ev...ents throughout the year, plus the monthly breakfast on a Sunday after training. Well.....? Time is precious and passing us by so grab your swim togs, and see if you would like to be part of a great little club. OUR SWIM TIMES ARE 6.30 - 7.30 PM MONDAY & WEDNESDAY, AND 9 - 10 AM SUNDAYS. See more

05.01.2022 Well we are finally able to start swimming again at our pool at Newman College. Covid-19 restrictions require us to all complete necessary forms and abide by rules of not using change rooms until further restrictions are lifted by the college and government. We have received approval for Sunday morning training only, from 9 - 10 am, but we have to keep social distancing by only having 4 double lanes across our usual 8 lane pool to allow everyone to swim with required distancing. Hopefully by Oct/Nov 2020 and restrictions are lifted even further we can again start our summer training days of Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6.30 - 7.30 pm and Sunday mornings from 8 - 9 am. Jenny Maloney.

05.01.2022 Remind you of anyone else in our club? (other than me that is) Jenny M. https://www.facebook.com/236437756388216/posts/2572823572749611/

04.01.2022 Year for the Olympic Games, so we all came dress with this theme in mind. To everyone else that came and enjoyed the night, and all the shared food. Sorry if I failed to get a picture of you (and me). Maybe next year? Jenny Maloney. x

04.01.2022 Newman-Churchlands LiveLighter Club Challenge was held at our home pool, located in the grounds of Newman College, Empire Avenue, Churchlands. Sunday 16th February, 2014. Overall we had 130 swimmers attend. Entry was $7 which included a free sausage sizzle, cakes and watermelon. The only complaint we received, was that there were too many raffle prizes. FB only picked up random photos taken. See the LOT in new album just posted ( LLCC 16Feb2014 ) From assembling the raffle prizes to our 'cool down' afterwards. Thanks everyone. Jenny Maloney, (secretary)

03.01.2022 Sounds like this pool will be out of action till same time as Newman College Pool. The members of Newman Churchlands Masters Swimming Club have reserved two lanes at Bold Park from end of October for their members to train. It will be great when we get to swim back in our regular pool, and now that it will be heated. We have had to re-schedule our next LLCC swim carnival to Sunday 15 April 2018 to make sure the pool upgrade to heating is fully complete. The College expect the pool to be ready by the time 2018 school starts, but we have given it additional 10 weeks to make sure everything is up and running smoothly for our very popular carnival with other Masters clubs. At least with the heating it should be another successful day for us. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1588087841251423&id=972079906185556

03.01.2022 MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Sun 1 Nov 2020 from 8am. "Let's swim Together" campaign. You are invited to a free swim between 8-9am and a sausage sizzle afterwards in our pool area at Newman College Pool, 216 Empire Ave, Churchlands WA. COVID !9 requirements will apply. Also attendees will be required to sign in your name, email and phone number for Masters swimming requirements and there may be a few photos taken for our FB page to help promote our club.
