25.01.2022 BOOK WEEK! Newman daycare will be holding their book Week from the 12th - 16th of October! Each room has chosen a theme with the help from the little ones and over the next four weeks we invite you to watch as each room transforms into a magical place! The week of the 12th no matter what day your child attends we invite them to come along dressed up as anything they please we plan to celebrate all week long! We will be reading many books during the next few weeks and encourage you to share some special Reading time with your children too If you have any questions about book week please feel free to email Amy at [email protected]



24.01.2022 ** POSTPONED** Due to illness our AGM has been postponed, we will give an alternative date ASAP. Apologies for the inconvenience, as always, the health and saf...ety of our children, staff and committee are our highest priority. Our 2020 AGM will be held at the centre at 7pm on Thursday September 17th. All positions declared vacant. We are looking for new, dynamic, forward thinking members to help lead Newman Day Care into the future. After 6 years as executive committee members, myself (President) and Kylie Bergmann (Vice President) will not be re-nominating. If you are a business savvy leader who can passionately help our centre thrive and flourish into the future we would love to hear from you. 22.01.2022 Over the last few weeks the children at NDC have been learning about and acknowledging the culture and history of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in preparation for NAIDOC week. Today we continued our celebrations by welcoming the traditional dances from Ngoey Mura Gubal who performed two songs for us. Here is one for you to enjoy also, Taba Naba.

21.01.2022 The toddlers have been learning all things dinosaurs and they have been having a ROARing time! Check out the creative spaces they have created in their room! Remember we are celebrating book week all week long so still time to dress up!!

I’m undertaking my Certificate 3 in children’s services and you’ll find me in the pre kindy room. 18.01.2022 Lucky last room for book week 2020! The babies have loved learning all things under the sea for the Rainbow Fish! This is the end of our book week celebrations the decorations will still be up in the rooms for the next week (please check them out) before the children and educators get stuck into Halloween.. how spooktacular!

15.01.2022 AHOY! We are gearing up to walk the plank for our pirate day excursion tomorrow. Please remember if have not completed an excursion form this will need to be done. These can be found at the sign in/out ipad where x marks the spot! If your child doesn’t attend on a Friday you are still more then welcome to bring them along.

11.01.2022 It’s Halloween on Saturday! The kids have been having lots of fun creating Halloween inspired artwork in their rooms. We would love to see them come to daycare dressed up in their favourite spooky costume on Friday 30th of October.

07.01.2022 This year Parnawarri, BHP & Department of Communities are linking arms to create a community 2 day event to promote National Child Protection Week. This year they are celebrating 30 years of raising awareness of child abuse and neglect. The little things that we do todaymatter to a child’s tomorrow. Tonight Newman icons are sleeping outside to do just that, raise awareness! Myself being one of them (Amy - Director) ... Newman daycare centre will be donating to NAPCAN $100 for every icon that makes it through the night! Show us some support!! #newmanchildprotectionweek

07.01.2022 Big thanks to my two helpers this morning we have planted two new palms in our front planter boxes. We will create a roster and share the watering amongst the children and watch them grow keep an eye out for more green additions in the next few months. Also if any parents have a green thumb we would love some help on starting a vegetable garden!

05.01.2022 Hi Families, It looks like Gastro is making its rounds through town, school and the centre. To ensure we can keep the little people and educators safe in our centre we ask that if you, your child or anyone in your family is showing signs of gastro to please not enter the service until 24 hours after the symptoms are gone. Fact sheets can be found in the foyer. Please also upon entry use the hand sanitiser available in the foyer.... We are doing our best to ensure all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised each day. Thank you for your understanding.

01.01.2022 Well we survived the night! A huge donation of $1700 was made from Newman Daycare Centre to the National Association for Prevention of Children Abuse and Neglect today!! Thank you to everyone for their support and to the organisers for such a fantastic event!
