25.01.2022 Have you seen these amazing helmets yet??? When BHP told us we didnt have to use helmets on the mine tours anymore we didnt know what to do with the 100 or so helmets. Sooo we gave them to the Newman and South Newman Primary school children to decorate. And I must say they are absolutely AMAZINGGGGG

19.01.2022 Have you noticed we have had a couple of vans staying in the car park and the oval? Would you believe the amount of vans, campers, renters and swaggers so far this month. Phew!!! And it hasn’t finished yet. Just because we are a mining town doesn’t mean people don’t want to visit us. Also these lovely people spend money in our shops which helps them out a lot. And the feedback is that a Newman people are lovely and friendly...tell us something we don’t know.... Gotta love Newman

09.01.2022 MOUNT WHALEBACK MINE TOURS Have you ever thought about doing a mine tour but unsure as to what you would see? Well here is a bit of info to entice you. Mt Whaleback is approx 5.5kms long x 2kms wide Mt Whaleback is the worlds largest single open cut mine.... You will get to look into this amazing pit. The Caterpillar 793C Trucks are 13 m (42.30 ft) long and 6 m (21.10 ft) high and we will take you pretty close to them The 271 Pit Viper Drill rigs with their tower up are 12.6m (41.3ft) long and 26.5m (87 ft) in height. Hopefully you will see one of them and a blast pattern. Then there is the trains which are roughly 2.9kms long. 08.01.2022 KARLAMILYI (RUDALL RIVER) NATIONAL PARK IS CLOSED DUE TO COVID We have had quite a few enquiries about going to Karlamilyi National Park and the Desert Queen Baths. Even though you dont actually go into a community going to Desert Queen Baths they are still in the biosecurity area.
