22.01.2022 New air filter sorted the rough running.

21.01.2022 Hi all, been a while since I’ve posted but we still have plenty going on at Newhill Mechanical. So many projects on! This customer found out the hard way why it’s crucial to get the oiling right in 2 stroke engines. Unfortunately I hear all to often that people forgot to mix their fuel or grabbed the wrong fuel can. This ripper little Husqvarna 525RS whipper snipper was run on straight unleaded fuel (no oil). The end result is a seized piston in the bore. It took a bit of convincing to get out! With a new piston and barrel this snipper will be cutting again in no time. Let this be a reminder to check your fuel mixtures or correctly dispose of any old fuel and and use fresh fuels only. If your fuel is going to sit for a length of time, use a good quality fuel stabiliser.

20.01.2022 Some of the best mowing and snipping gear money can buy. Honda are up there with the best value for money and quality that will last you for years. This mower is a great example. Has seen a few lawns in its time but runs and cuts perfectly and will last for years to come thanks to regular maintenance. The snipper is no different. Both in for a service, tune up, new blades and a new easy load cutting head. The owners will love how easy the snipper is to change the cutting line. Get in touch today to book in your mower or snipper for it’s service or repair.

20.01.2022 Another Scott Bonnar 33 in for a service and and blade sharpen. What a great little mower these are.

16.01.2022 Customer bought his mower in that wouldn’t go. After a quick spark check and carby clean out, this thing still wouldn’t go. Removed the valve cover to check valve clearances and low and behold, a bent valve Unfortunately this customer didn’t want to fix it but it just goes to show how important regular maintenance is to keep your gear running. The pushrod has popped out and held the valve open which has probably contacted the piston. Give me a call to book in your next service or repair for your equipment to help prevent failures like this.

15.01.2022 Finally got the barrel and piston for this Husqvarna 525RS today all the way from the US of A. Put it together and this baby sings ! It’s for sale to if you’re interested. PM me for more details.

14.01.2022 Had a customer call me today for a complaint of a new engine we fitted to her Scott Bonnar this time last year was running rough and sooting up spark plugs. Upon further investigation it was found that the air filter was nearly completely blocked! It was running as if the choke was permanently on. Remember that routine maintenance is key to machine reliability and performance. This customer thought it was going to go cost 100’s in parts and labour. Keep your gear serviced regularly and it will look after you for years to come. See the video to see what was happening. Get in contact today to book your equipment in for repairs or service.
