09.01.2022 First Steps Lounge The Lounge has officially moved into our new space at the:- Presbyterian Church Community Centre... 59 Main Street, Ulverstone. We’re excited about our new home and the wonderful, spacious, bright & warm space we have access to for our coffee lounge & meeting place. The Lounge is open:- Monday 1:30 - 4:30pm Friday 10am - 1pm The Lounge is about helping women develop positive mental health and wellbeing as well as providing informal support during the phases & stages of grief and loss. The group provides a welcoming and safe environment for women to re-engage with their community and to develop new relationships with other women. As Bessel van der Kolk states, Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; safe connections are fundamental to meaningful and satisfying lives. The Lounge also runs various arts & crafts activities as well as offering space and time to sit, be and enjoy company and a cuppa.

01.01.2022 The Lounge has enjoyed the first week of being in our new venue at the Ulverstone Presbyterian Church Community Centre - and we couldn’t be happier. The UPC have created a brilliant, light, practical and spacious area for community gatherings and events. Between the well appointed kitchen, a spacious yet intimate lounge, the undercover deck and great spaces for crafts, games & activities - we have made ourselves well & truly at home. The Lounge continues to provide a safe ...space for women isolated by mental ill-health and working through grief & loss. Time & unhurried space in the week to meet, connect, be encouraged, learn or participate in various activities and, hopefully, find courage, hope & even humour for this journey we call life. 01.01.2022 The Lounge News No Lounge today - Monday 3 May Due to ill-health of some of the team, we’ve had to make the call to close The Lounge for today. We’ll rest up today and be back on deck Friday.
