17.01.2022 We made it to Episode 6!!! Matt and Jackie set off to find where the old car ferry used to cross from the east side of the river. Storyteller Mary O’Meara grew up in West Footscray and has a swag of family stories. Dharma puts a tune to a song written by her 7-year-old niece Matilda Phrapone. Jackie continues to spruik the Newport Bush Orchestra and this time we hear 'Helen's Heart Waltz' composed by Helen McKay. Alan Davies’s multi layered story takes us to the Lerderderg Gorge and Sarah Depasquale plays us out with the exquisite 'Bovaglie’s Plaid'. https://www.nffc.org.au/podcast.html
09.01.2022 Here we are - and yes, it's one of those Zoom photos! We had wonderful night of stories with people joining us from as far away as India and the UK, the Victorian goldfields, Tasmania and the outer 'burbs of Melbourne. Brilliant. Next month we are attempting a hybrid event. We'll set up ground control in the Newport Hub and hook up the smart screen. It might take a few tries to master the technology but fingers crossed, we can work it out and our friends who live far away can still join in. Thank you everyone for the conversation, the stories and the song.
