15.01.2022 Rothwell | Emergency services are responding to reports of a plane crash at the Redcliffe Airport. Unknown severity at this stage, multiple emergency services ...are responding to the scene. Update 10:15am | Redcliffe Coast Guard, Bribie Island Marine Rescue are on scene, along with Queensland Police watercraft. Update 10:35am | Reports say four people were on board when the aircraft collided with the water. It’s unclear if there are any major injuries or survivors at this stage. We ask followers not to speculate at this time. Police Update | Four people have died following a plane crash near Redcliffe this morning. Police and emergency services responded to reports a small plane crashed in waters off the coast of Redcliffe shortly after 9am. A multi-agency operation is underway with Queensland Water Police officers and divers along with the Forensic Crash Unit assisting other agencies, including the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, as investigations continue. There is no further information about those on board at this stage. The families are asking media to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Police Update Two | The pilot, a 67-year-old Wamuran man and his three passengers, a 41-year-old Brisbane man, his 10-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son, all died in the crash. Investigations are continuing.
