23.01.2022 A gorgeous career chat with a ten year old today. Here we identified her values, strengths, skills and aspirations in the tree. We then did a deep dive into her career of choice to identify the skills that will be important. Activities like this help young people to know themselves and what makes them unique. It also helps to make school subjects relevant. Her comment at the end? I loved finding out what was important to me and what makes me special

13.01.2022 Today Heidi and I explored 100 jobs of the Future. She completed a quick quiz and loved learning about Autonomous Vehicle Design, a creative career that is fast emerging that aligns with her interests. Yes, by the time she is entering the workforce, we will have self driving, personalised cars! She loved that it is expected that the interior design of these vehicles will be personalised and morph according to how you want to spend your 'travel time". She is liking the sound of incorporating a music recording studio so she can write music as she commutes. And the skin on the outside of car will be completely personalised too. As we speak she is designing her car on a new design app. Virtual work experience is here too. I can't wait to share what she comes up with.

11.01.2022 Recent research from the University of Melbourne and Deakin University shows that one in five Australian school students don’t receive careers advice from a qualified Advisor or Teacher - exacerbating why young women aren’t engaging with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) opportunities. To counteract this New Pursuits will be offering a free group coaching session online, particularly for girls aged 15+ who think they may be interested in a STEM career, but don't know how to make it happen.
