19.01.2022 We would like to thank the communities of Gippsland for your patience and understanding while we completed several planned burns over the Easter long weekend. W...e understand that smoke from planned burns may cause concern for some people, but we must take every opportunity to burn while conditions allow, and it is safe to do so. The dry, mild conditions across many parts of Gippsland were ideal for burning. We would also like to thank our agency partners such as the CFA and Parks Victoria for their continued support during the delivery of the planned burning program. 05.01.2022 You may see a bit of smoke around today with FFMV, CFA, HVP & GLaWAC crews undertaking a planned Burn on the Briagolong-Stockdale Rd. Planned burns are underta...ken when the weather conditions are most suitable. After cool summer with fairly consistent rainfalls this is happening a little earlier than normal. We are still in the Fire Danger Period so you'll need to hold off on your own burn off's for a little longer. These planned burns are very important prevention measures for our communities. Agencies take every opportunity available to safely conduct each burn. A new website called Planned Burns Victoria is a great source of information. You can set up a watch zone in your area and receive text message/email at each burn stage. https://plannedburns.ffm.vic.gov.au/search-results Photo souce: FFMV-Middle Rd burn 2020
