12.01.2022 FREE MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS AND CARERS Member for Vaucluse Gabrielle Upton MP announced today that parents and carers will be able to book in for free mental health workshops hosted by headspace, thanks to a $1.2 million investment by the NSW Government. Ms Upton said These free sessions are for carers or parents who are concerned about their child’s mental health but are unsure how to start a conversation or provide the best help possible. Over 200 workshops will be delivered across NSW over two years as another way to support the mental health of our young people. 10.01.2022 Say Hello to the Sun - our signature Baby Sensory song. We begin every session with this song. It incorporates many baby sign's, and as babies get to around 8 months of age- they usually begin to copy some of the taught signs. It is one of the best moments in class when we pop on the song. There is silence from all the babies, and they love it! Signing is learnt through practise and repetition, and always alongside speech. Signing can be so simple, just learn a few t...hat match your everyday routine, like bath, sleep, milk and more! Signing helps your baby feel truly understood, when they sign and you repeat it back to them alongside speech, and then help them with their need- this is such a reassuring and bonding experience for both you, and your baby. 07.01.2022 Baby Sign Language helps your baby to communicate their needs before they can talk. Baby's know many of their needs, and are trying to communicate with you from birth. The motor areas of the brain develop before the speech centre's. Baby can use their hands to let you know what they want.... Examples are waving, pointing, raising their hands to be lifted up by you.
