People who live, work or visit the Bargo area are now urged to monitor for symptoms and get tested immediately if they develop. ... 23.01.2022 NSW recorded no new cases of locally acquired COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Eight cases were reported in overseas travellers. This brings the total number of cases in NSW to 4,375 since the start of the pandemic. There were 12,106 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with 14,758 in the previous 24 hours. ... NSW Health is treating 74 COVID-19 cases, none of whom are in intensive care. Most cases, 97 per cent, are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. NSW Health again urges people to practise COVID-19 safe behaviour while taking the necessary precautions to avoid heat stress this weekend. People who can cool their home through a combination of fans, air-conditioning and closed blinds are asked to do so and stay at home. This is so physical distancing in other indoor spaces where people may seek respite from the heat is not compromised. People going to the beach or pool should keep 1.5m from anyone other than those in their own household. To ensure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the water and keeps out of the heat, we encourage people to swim and leave. While NSW has had 21 days without a locally acquired case of COVID-19, there still may be transmission among people who have unrecognised infections with mild or no symptoms. As always, everyone is encouraged to continue to come forward for testing if they have even the mildest symptoms that could signal COVID-19, such as a runny nose or scratchy throat. There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: If you are unwell, get tested and isolate right away don’t delay. Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. Wear a mask when using public transport, rideshares and taxis, and in shops, places of worship and other places where you can’t physically distance. When taking taxis or rideshares, commuters should also sit in the back.

20.01.2022 NSW recorded no new cases of locally acquired COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. Nine cases were reported in overseas travellers. This brings the total number of cases in NSW to 4,388 since the start of the pandemic. There were 6,106 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with 10,256 in the previous 24 hours. ... With a drop in testing numbers over the weekend, NSW Health is again asking everyone to continue to come forward for testing if they have even the mildest symptoms that could signal COVID-19, such as a runny nose or scratchy throat. While NSW has had 23 days without a locally acquired case of COVID-19, there still may be transmission among people who have unrecognised infections with mild or no symptoms. There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP. NSW Health is treating 75 COVID-19 cases, none of whom are in intensive care. Most cases, 96 per cent, are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation. 19.01.2022 No cases of locally acquired COVID-19 were diagnosed in NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. One case was reported in an overseas traveller in hotel quarantine, and two previously confirmed cases have been excluded after further testing. This brings the total number of cases in NSW to 4,293 since the start of the pandemic. There were 18,941 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with 23,236 in the previous 24 hours. ... NSW Health thanks the community, as every person who comes forward for testing is playing an important role in helping to contain the spread of COVID-19. NSW Health is treating 73 COVID-19 cases, none of whom are in intensive care. Most cases, 95 per cent, are being treated by NSW Health in non-acute, out-of-hospital care. Recent sewage surveillance results show evidence of the virus in locations including Moss Vale, Bowral and Rouse Hill. Everyone in these areas is urged to immediately get tested if they have any symptoms at all that could signal COVID-19. Symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough, tiredness, fever or other symptoms could be COVID-19. After testing, you must remain in isolation until a negative result is received. While detection of the virus in sewage samples could reflect the presence of older cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in these areas, NSW Health is concerned there could be other active cases in the local community in people who have not been tested and who might incorrectly assume their symptoms are simply a cold. It is vital that people continue to come forward for testing immediately if they feel unwell, as this is the best way of protecting the community from a resurgence of the virus. There are more than 300 COVID-19 testing locations across NSW. To find your nearest clinic visit https://www.nsw.gov.au//how-to-protect-yourself-an/clinics or contact your GP. They recommend that the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is the preferred vaccine for people aged under 60 years, based on a reassessment of the risks and benefits of COVID-19 vaccination. People under 60 years who have already received their first dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine with no serious adverse events can continue to be given their second do...se of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at the appropriate time. People aged 50 to 59 will be eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine through our NSW Health vaccination clinics. To book an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, these people should use the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility checker: https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility. For more information on the updated ATAGI advice, you can read the statement on their website at https://www.health.gov.au//atagi-statement-on-revised-reco. There is currently significant demand for vaccination bookings across NSW, including at NSW Health’s vaccination clinics. If there are no available bookings at a location near you soon, please continue to visit the eligibility checker as more vaccination appointments will soon become available. NSW Health has progressively expanded its capacity to administer COVID-19 vaccines since the rollout began in February and is continuously exploring a range of options to further expand its capacity, subject to vaccine supply. We are also working to support the GP network to quickly and safely vaccinate as many people as possible across NSW. NSW Health appreciates people’s patience and urges everyone to get vaccinated as soon as it is possible to do so. In doing so, you take an important step to protect yourself, your loved ones and the community.

05.01.2022 NSW Health is urging people to take precautions with heatwave conditions forecast for parts of the state this weekend. Simple ways to reduce the risk of heat-related illness include: Avoid the heat of the day by staying indoors and keeping cool by using air-conditioning, fans and drawing blinds and curtains closed Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water ... Check on the welfare of vulnerable neighbours, friends and family Plan ahead for hot days. Signs of heat related illness include dizziness, tiredness, irritability, thirst, fainting, muscle pains or cramps, rapid pulse, shallow breathing, vomiting and confusion. People showing severe signs should seek urgent medical attention and, in an emergency situation, call Triple Zero (000). If you are able to cool your home through a combination of fans, air-conditioning and closed blinds, please do so and stay at home. This is so physical distancing in other indoor spaces where people may seek relief from the heat, such as libraries or shopping centres, is not compromised. If you do leave your home to visit other indoor spaces, please physically distance and wear a face mask in places where you cannot maintain 1.5 metres distance from others. Keep in touch with relatives, neighbours and friends virtually through phone, social media or video call.
